PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Former President Donald Trump labeled independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr as the "most radical left candidate in the race," arguing he is more in line with Democrats, which would benefit MAGA.

In a nearly three-minute video message posted on Truth Social on Thursday, April 11, the MAGA spearhead said Kennedy should not appeal to conservative voters and is more of a threat to President Joe Biden's re-election bid, according to Newsweek.

"RFK Jr is, as you know, the most radical left candidate in the race. He's more so than the Green Party. He's more so than even crooked Joe Biden. But he's got some nice things about him. I happen to like him," the GOP presumptive nominee said.

Donald Trump calls on liberals to vote for Robert F Kennedy Jr

Despite describing the environmental lawyer as a "radical left" contender, Trump considered him a "better" candidate than Biden and urged liberal voters to choose Kennedy over the 81-year-old incumbent in light of the former's policy positions, according to the New York Post.

"I guess that would mean that RFK Jr is going to be taking away votes from crooked Joe Biden and he should because he's actually better than Biden," the GOP White House hopeful said, adding, "He's much better than Biden."

"If I were a Democrat, I'd vote for RFK Jr every single time over Biden, because he's frankly more in line with Democrats."

Trump further reiterated his assurance that Kennedy was a "better man" than Biden, suggesting that his independent race was "great for MAGA."

Irrespective of Trump's remarks about Kennedy, who comes from a family with a rich Democratic heritage, the independent candidate has mirrored the ex-president often. For instance, he is known for his anti-vaccine policy, which was a Trump trademark, and similar stances have placed him more in line with Republican voters.

Recently, Kennedy drew flak for calling the convicted Jan 6 rioters "activists." Though he later retracted the remark, he questioned the possibility of political motives behind their prosecution.

The nephew of late former President John F Kennedy has 10% voter support at the national level, whereas Trump stands at 41.9% and Biden at 40% backing in the RealClearPolitics average of polls.

Internet differs from Donald Trump's take on Robert F Kennedy Jr

Disagreeing with Trump netizens accused him of trying to gaslight Kennedy's independent race against Biden in fear that the former might take away his votes.

One user wrote on Facebook, "Lies, total set up from Trump and his corrupt MAGA Republicans," and another argued, "RFK is being used as a strategy on the part of the GOP to siphon votes from Biden."

A user added, "Trump is worried. He knows full well RFK Jr is taking from his base not just Biden. He is gaslighting the situation."

"Because RFK is a plant and Trump ALWAYS knew it!!" one response read.

An individual remarked on X, "In one breath he says RFKJR is most radical leftist, even more than Biden, but then he says RFKJR would better for the country than Biden. What he's really saying is this: 'I'm worried bigly about RFKJR: he's drawing voters away from me--like a LOT, that I can tell you.' :)"

"Meanwhile, back in the *real* world . . . Donald knows that RFK Jr. agrees with Donald's base on vaccines, Jan 6, and Joe Biden. That is why he is telling this lie. He is scared out of his meager wits that RFK Jr. will peel votes off him, not Biden," another user said.

Meanwhile, one person claimed, "Uh, no. He’s not. There are no radical left candidates in this election," and another questioned, "Why does he seem to agree with you on so many issues then?"

"Trying to get the fringe left to vote for him because you know he’s taking maga votes?" a user asked. Someone else added, "Haha. No he is not. His Vice President pick wants to ban IVF !! He is a conspiracy theorist like Trump !!"
