Travis Kelce admits Taylor Swift is a bit 'biased' as he reveals her surprising role in Chiefs' playbook
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Taylor Swift is known for her musical genius, but she could soon be adding "football coach" to her ever-expanding resume, as per reports.
Rumors about the pop star's involvement with the Kansas City Chiefs gained momentum after star quarterback Patrick Mahomes jokingly claimed that she had been creating plays for the team, according to OK Magazine.
However, what started as playful banter seems to have an ounce of truth, as her beau, Travis Kelce, recently appeared to admit that she has indeed been dabbling in the art of football strategy.
Travis Kelce reveals Taylor Swift's new interest in football strategy
During an interview on 'The Rich Eisen Show', the Chiefs tight end shared, "She has just been so open to learning the game."
"She didn't know much about the rules and everything. I think what makes her so good in her profession is she's so detailed in every aspect of it," added the three-time Super Bowl champion.
He went on to explain that Swift's meticulous nature, which has propelled her to the top of the music charts, also makes her a natural fit for understanding the intricacies of football.
According to Kelce, while head coach Andy Reid hasn't yet seen her plays, the NFL star is ready to make sure she gets the credit if they're ever executed on the field.
"I'll make sure everyone knows it was her creation," promised Kelce, though he noted with a laugh, "She's a little biased — she just creates plays for me."
"We'll see if they can make it to coach Reid," noted the tight end.
Patrick Mahomes praises Taylor Swift's impact on female football fans
Taylor Swift's influence on the Chiefs isn’t just limited to playbooks.
Mahomes spoke about the broader impact she's had on the sport, especially among female fans during his recent 'NFL on NBC' interview, according to Fox 10 News.
He revealed the 'Lover' singer is "really interested in football and asks a lot of great questions." The star quarterback added, "She started drawing up plays, we might have to put one in."
"I think it’s been cool to see the girls and the women that have really embraced watching football," noted Mahomes, reflecting on how Swift’s presence has brought new energy to the game.
As a father of a young daughter, who's all set to welcome baby number three with his wife, Britanny Mahomes, he finds it particularly heartwarming to see how much little girls are enjoying football, perhaps inspired by Swift's involvement.
Mahomes also gushed about the pop star's down-to-earth nature.
"Meeting Taylor, realizing how genuine and cool she is... she could not be," admitted the 28-year-old, clearly impressed by her humility and warmth.
The bond between the Mahomes family and Swift has grown stronger, with the quarterback's wife forming a close friendship with the 'Karma' singer after meeting last year.
Their friendship has only deepened and the two couples were recently spotted enjoying a summer getaway at Swift's Rhode Island mansion.
The star-studded gathering also included the Chiefs tight end's brother, Jason Kelce, and supermodel Gigi Hadid, proving that the 'Cruel Summer' singer's influence extends far beyond the music industry.
