KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce earned the ire of NFL fans on social media after he swiftly retreated from the field following his team's game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday, November 29, reported the Daily Mail.

The Chiefs narrowly defeated the Raiders and secured their place in the playoffs, because of an inexplicable fumble on the part of the Raiders.

Kelce was seemingly in no mood to celebrate afterward, as he headed straight for the tunnel instead of being out on the field to shake hands with his opponents.

Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby apparently took note of Kelce's behavior, as he was caught on camera saying "his a** took off" moments before congratulating Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes over the game. While he did not name Kelce, the latter was an obvious candidate for the jibe.

Why was Travis Kelce not in mood to celebrate?

Cheered on by his pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce finished Friday's game with seven receptions for 68 receiving yards. However, it was disappointing for him to not score an extra touchdown, as it would have made him the leading scorer for the Chiefs in their history.

Kelce lost a touchdown opportunity in the game as Mahomes missed him with a throw when he was open in the red zone in the latter stages.

According to the Daily Mail, the 35-year-old has struggled to be in his finest form in the current season, and that is true for his team as well.

Mahomes said in his post-match brief, "We don’t feel like we’re playing our best football. Too many mistakes. We have got to clean that up to get where we want to go."

The Chiefs now move to 11-1 on the season and still remain atop the AFC standings as they continue their Super Bowl defense. They will take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14 on 'Sunday Night Football'.

Internet trolls Travis Kelce's lack of 'sportsmanship'

Netizens did not take kindly to Travis Kelce as they commented on his quick exit from the field on Friday on the social media platform X. The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"Travis Kelce showing such class leaving the field without shaking hands after a win. I think I hate Kansas City more than I ever hated New England," wrote a user.

"Travis Kelce continues to put the a** in class. Didn’t shake hands after the game. Straight to the locker room. Probably went to get friendship bracelets for the refs. Just retire already loser. Your concussed head is clearly not in it," stated another.

"I don’t know why everyone is scared to talk about Travis Kelce. He’s such a little girl. He’s not even shaking hands after winning a football game. He’s walking straight down the tunnel without having any sportsmanship," noted a third.

"Travis Kelce not shaking hands is on brand for his petty a**," quipped another.

"Travis Kelce left FAST. His chemistry with Mahomes seems so off. I'm not sure what's up this season," expressed one user.
