KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: According to sources, Taylor Swift is under fire for drawing too much attention in the NFL while her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, has been trying tirelessly to diffuse the situation with his Kansas City Chiefs teammates.

Swift, 34, has reportedly been feeling uncomfortable and guilty for stealing much of the game's spotlight as several fans claimed that the 'Karma' singer appeared too often to the disadvantage of NFL players who got left out of the September 2 promo video.

Taylor Swift feels 'uneasy' about stealing NFL limelight

In the lead-up to the 2024 NFL season kickoff between the Baltimore Ravens and the reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs, the league aired a 30-second promo featuring four distinct footages of Taylor Swift encouraging Travis Kelce during the games last year, juxtaposed with other highlights from the season.

A few fans expressed their displeasure, claiming that the multi-Grammy-winning singer appeared excessively, affecting NFL players who were not featured in the promotional video.

Speaking to Life & Style Magazine, an insider revealed, "It’s only natural the NFL wants her in this promo, she’s bringing in so many fans and this is a business, of course they want to use her to promote."

"But there are some people in the organization that are grumbling that it takes away from the team, and obviously the die-hard fans aren’t too happy either and they’re making their voices heard, which makes Taylor feel uneasy," the source spilled.

Regarding the pop sensation, the insider said, "She doesn’t want to upset anybody in any way, she’s just a very excited and supportive girlfriend and when the NFL approached her, she didn’t think twice about lending her support."

The insider commented on Swift's attendance at his first two games of the 2024 season, "People are telling her to ignore the haters but it’s a little stressful for her and for Travis because he’s now got to smooth things out behind the scenes to make sure that people know she’s not trying to sort of impose herself."

In an interview with Time in December 2023, the 'Lover' hitmaker talked about her visits to Kelce's games. Swift claimed she was helpless over the amount of time she was shown on telecasts and that she had no idea how often.

"I’m there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads," Swift told the outlet at the time.

Travis Kelce reportedly maintains composure while facing 'pretty hard time'

In the meantime, Travis Kelce, 34, has maintained a composed demeanor in response to jokes about him being the pop star's arm candy.

The insider said of Kelce to Life & Style, "His teammates are giving him a pretty hard time about it too calling him Mr. Taylor Swift and saying he’s letting her run his life, which really bugs him. He’s not blaming her for it, but it is causing some tension."

Fans have made fun of Kelce, saying that the professional athlete has no concerns about being viewed as Swift's arm candy because of their romance, which has made him famous.

During an appearance on 'CBS Mornings' episode, Kelce responded to the spotlight surrounding his romance with Swift, saying, "It’s the life I chose, I guess. I have fun with it."

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end proceeded to consider how "people are rooting for him." Kelce hoped that people would support him because they saw him as "just a genuinely good person."

Kelce said in the interview, "I love what I do and I love doing it with the people that I’m doing it with. I’d rather give everybody happiness and something to cheer about than otherwise."

Taylor Swift extensively featured in NFL's 2024 season promo video

The NFL capitalized on Taylor Swift's passion for football by prominently showcasing the singer in a new advertisement for the 2024–2025 football season.

The Folklore artist could be seen supporting boyfriend Kelce in four separate cutaway angles in the video released by the league on September 2.

Swift's extensive appearance in the promo caused disappointment among football enthusiasts. One person said, "Taylor Swift was shown 5 times in this 28 second clip of football being back." Another person remarked, "STOP SHOWING TAYLOR SWIFT WE DONT CARE."

Another said, "Genuine question, why is Taylor Swift shown more times in this video than anyone in your actual league?"

One NFL fan commented, "Really trying to understand why Taylor swift made the @NFL hype video like she plays in the league? I mean there are 53 men on 32 teams that deserve the spotlight more than her!"

Another added, "Taylor Swift makes 5 appearances. Totally disrespectful to the men who have spent their blood sweat and tears making it to the top of the NFL, only to be ousted for a pop star who merely dates a player"
