LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Travis Kelce is making it clear that he’s firmly rooted in football with a humorous comment about his swimming prowess while responding to Olympic swimming legend Michael Phelps's cheeky query.

During a recent episode of the 'New Heights' podcast, which Travis, 34, co-hosts with his brother Jason, 36, the siblings discussed various Olympic sports they might excel in.

They touched on curling, bocce ball, and others but skipped over swimming, prompting a playful response from Michael Phelps.

Phelps, intrigued by their omission, commented, “No swimming?” to which Travis responded with a lighthearted jab: “Lmao too heavy, don’t have the wingspan 😂.”

The conversation didn’t end there. The Kelce brothers also mused about their potential in bobsledding, only to quickly dismiss it due to their questionable driving abilities. “Neither one of us can drive, I don’t know if that’s the best,” admitted Travis, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

His brother Jason added a humorous twist by referencing their father’s driving skills. “Yeah, we’ve got the Ed Kelce genes,” he said.

Jason jokingly mentioned that their dad’s driving had them “just jerking” around, while Travis admitted he gets “seasick” when riding with their father. He even noted that his wife, Kylie, has commented on his own driving habits, which seem to mirror those of his father.

Returning to their sports expertise, the Kelce brothers agreed that while beer pong and cornhole are not Olympic events, they are areas where they could truly shine.

As the 2024-25 NFL season approaches, Travis is focused on maintaining his physical fitness. At a press conference during the Kansas City Chiefs training camp on July 27, Kelce emphasized the importance of preparing his body for the upcoming season.

“The biggest thing was getting my body right,” Kelce said. “Last year was pretty taxing on my body and I mean, it is what it is. I’ve had more snaps than a lot of the guys, if not anybody in the NFL, over the past five or six years.”

He continued, “I’m very fortunate, and very prideful of that. But, I know it has taken a toll on my body, so it’s just making sure that my body’s getting that rest and that ability to train harder and be able to withstand an entire 17- to 20-game season.”

In addition to his regular football practice, Kelce works with personal trainers to stay in peak condition. “I have my personal PT and, then on top of that, I have the best in the world here at Kansas City,” he remarked.
