'General Hospital' executive producer Frank Valentini took to Instagram to honor the late Tristan Rogers with a moving tribute following news of his death.

“The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers’ passing,” the message began.

“Tristan has captivated our fans for more than 50 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio).” Valentini added, “I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was a one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.”

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Rogers began his career on Australian television before joining 'General Hospital' in 1980. He quickly won over fans with his portrayal of Robert Scorpio, a charming and fearless agent.

One of his most iconic storylines came in 1981, when Scorpio joined forces with Luke and Laura (played by Anthony Geary and Genie Francis) to save the world from the infamous Ice Princess weather machine—a defining moment in soap opera history.

News of Tristan Rogers’ cancer diagnosis was first shared in July. At the time, a spokesperson for the veteran actor released a statement, via Soap Opera Digest, acknowledging the difficult road ahead.

“While he remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan, this is a challenging time for Tristan and his family,” the statement read.

The family requested privacy as they navigated the emotional and physical toll of the diagnosis, expressing deep gratitude for the overwhelming love and support they had received.

"As they face both the emotional and physical burdens that come with this diagnosis, the family kindly asks for privacy and understanding. They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and love from their friends and family."

The statement emphasized, "Tristan sends his love to his fans and wants them to know how much he appreciates their loyalty and encouragement over the years. This support means more to him now than ever.”

Co-Stars pay tribute to Tristan Rogers

Tributes continue to pour in for beloved 'General Hospital' star Tristan Rogers, whose legacy touched generations of cast members and fans alike.

Emma Samms, who portrayed Holly Rogers’ on-screen love interest for over four decades, shared a heartfelt message on social media, writing, “[I'm] incredibly sad to hear the news about Tristan. I loved working with him and we were both so grateful that we got the chance to do that for more than 40 years."

Reflecting on their longtime partnership, Samms added, “He taught me how to be comfortable in front of the cameras and introduced me to spontaneity and fun—even through all the trials and tribulations that Robert and Holly endured.”

Musician and actor Rick Springfield, another GH alum, also honored Rogers with a touching tribute, “Aussies are made of tough stuff but even tough stuff has its expiration date. Our friend Tristan Rogers, a charming, self deprecating, handsome and witty bloke from the Great Southern Land went home today. Bless and keep your spirit Tristan. Cancer sucks.❤️"

Genie Francis wrote, "My heart is heavy. Goodbye my spectacular friend. My deepest condolences to his wife Teresa and their children. Tristan Rogers was a very bright light, as an actor and a person. I was so lucky to have known him."

Daniel Goddard claimed on X, "Mate, I just heard the news, and I’m shocked. I want you to know how much you meant to not just me but everyone that had the fortune of being in your presence. You were a trailblazer—doing what no other Australian had done—and after all these years, you were still everybody’s mate. You were kind, with one of the driest senses of humour I’ve ever known, and I caught every joke, no matter how subtle. From the first scene to the last, I never stopped learning from you. The world is now a little more empty without you in it. Rest in peace, my friend. ❤️🙏🏻"
