Trump agrees with Sean Hannity as he claims media wants to separate him from Elon Musk: 'It's so obvious'

WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News host Sean Hannity accused the mainstream media of trying to push apart President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk while interviewing the pair for his network, OK! Magazine reported on Friday, February 14.

Musk, 53, has worked closely with the 78-year-old commander-chief since the days of his 2024 presidential campaign. He even became part of the federal administration by chairing the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which aims to reduce 'wasteful' government spending.



 

Donald Trump's take on media trying to separate him from Elon Musk

In Sean Hannity's interview with Donald Trump and Elon Musk, which will reportedly air in full on Tuesday, February 18, the network host stated, "You’re both aware, you have to be keenly aware that the media and the punditry class ... They just, they threw everything. Lawfare, weaponization," he said.

"And now I see they want you two — they want a divorce," he claimed. "They want you two to start hating each other. And they try. Oh, President Elon Musk, for example. You do know that they’re doing that to you?" he asked.

The POTUS agreed with Hannity's premise and claimed he sees instances of the same "all the time." He recalled a recent conversation he had with the Tesla CEO on the subject, saying, "Actually, Elon called me. He said, 'You know, they’re trying to drive us apart'. I said, 'Absolutely'."

"They said, 'We have breaking news. Donald Trump has ceded control of the presidency to Elon Musk. President Musk will be attending a cabinet meeting tonight at eight o’clock'. And I say, it’s just so obvious," he continued.

"They are so bad at it. I used to think they were good at it. They’re actually bad at it because if they were good at it, I’d never be president," noted Trump, later adding, "But you know what I have learned, Elon? The people are smart. They get it. They get it. They really see what's happening."
