PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: The potential Democratic presidential ticket for 2024 appears to be Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, while the Republican ticket could include former President Donald Trump and Ohio Senator JD Vance, with President Joe Biden stepping down from the race.

However, concerns regarding the current POTUS's cognitive abilities have now shifted to Donald Trump's campaign, according to Distractify.

As the 78-year-old MAGA strongman campaigns for the US presidency again, observers at his rallies and interviews have noticed that he frequently seems to struggle with speaking clearly and appears to be slurring his words.

Just as 81-year-old Joe Biden was previously criticized for his stuttering, voters are now expressing similar concerns about former President Trump.

Why is Donald Trump slurring plenty of his words?

During Monday’s live interview with Elon Musk on X (formerly Twitter), Donald Trump's difficulty in stringing together coherent sentences was a major point of contention for viewers listening to their discussion.

The scheduled interview started 40 minutes late, and many observers noted that former President Trump's conversational subjects meandered from comparing crowd sizes at his campaign rallies to immigration and then criticizing the sitting United States President.

Netizens pointed out that the 2024 Republican presidential candidate seemed to be slurring his words or possibly dealing with a significant lisp.

"OK, seriously there are two options. His dentures are falling out or he had a stroke," one X user remarked. "Dude cannot pronounce words at all."

Many people, including Twitch streamer and progressive political commentator Hasan Abi and various other news outlets, mentioned Trump's speech patterns during the interview.

Some dismissed the concerns, attributing them to "audio compression issues," or microphone problems, while others speculated about potential health issues.

In response to a question from SV Date, a White House correspondent for HuffPost, the Trump campaign dismissed the claims of the ex-POTUS' slurring and lisping, retorting in an email response, "Must be your sh***y hearing. Get your ears checked out."

This response suggests that the Trump campaign team is currently not focused on addressing concerns about the former president's speech clarity.

Donald Trump slammed for slurring his words during interview with Elon Musk

One X user remarked, "He's so old and clearly in cognitive decline. He'd be older than Biden is now in 2028!"

Another user said, "He’s so scared of losing the election he developed a lisp."

Another user quipped, "He sounds Daffy Duck."

One X user claimed, "Maybe Trump slurs his words when he isn´t wearing his teeth?"

Another user asserted, "Great examples of Trump's incompetence and serious cognitive decline. This man should never again be allowed near the White House."

Finally, this user tweeted, "That is Trump at his age. He is not acting."
