WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump is sparing no effort in the Jeffrey Epstein case. In a Truth Social post on Friday, November 14, the Republican leader said he will be asking Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice to work with the FBI on the “Epstein Hoax” case.

While speaking to reporters, he stated, “I’m considered the chief law enforcement agent in the country." He said he is "allowed" to issue such investigation orders and claimed that Democrats are using the case to divert attention from their “disastrous shutdown.”

Trump claims presidents can order direct investigations

CNN's Kaitlan Collins shared screenshots from Donald Trump’s Truth Social post along with Pam Bondi’s response regarding the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Collins captioned it, “Asked if presidents should be able to order investigations, Trump says 'sure.'”

“I am considered the chief law enforcement agent in the country. And I'm allowed to do it. I don't want to do it. I'm not doing it. I had nothing to do with that choice, as an example. That came from Pam Bondi, from the DOJ. But you can't pick a better person than Jay Clayton," he said, as per Collins.

In his Truth Social post, Trump said that he would ask Bondi, the DOJ, and the FBI to investigate Epstein’s “involvement and relationship” with former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers, LinkedIn founder and Democratic donor Reid Hoffman, and others. He did not specify which alleged crimes he wanted the DOJ to investigate.

He further claimed, "This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, with all arrows pointing to the Democrats. Records show that these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his 'Island.' Stay tuned!!!"

Pam Bondi responds after Trump orders Epstein investigation

Just four hours after Donald Trump’s post, Pam Bondi thanked the president for his trust. She wrote, “Thank you, Mr President. SDNY US Attorney Jay Clayton is one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country, and I’ve asked him to take the lead.”

She added, “As with all matters, the Department will pursue this with urgency and integrity to deliver answers to the American people.”

This comes during a hectic week in which congressional Republicans released nearly 23,000 pages from Epstein’s estate. At the same time, House Democrats highlighted emails mentioning Trump.
