NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump attacked Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who brought the hush money case against him as the criminal trial nears its end, according to Raw Story.

The GOP presumptive nominee claimed Bragg had "a lot" going on, specifically pointing at the hush money trial Judge Juan Merchan. Trump unleashed his anger in a Truth Social post on May 26, writing, "Can anyone believe that Soros backed DA, Alvin Bragg, was able to get a DELAY of 7 days to his Corrupt and Unconstitutional Case against me, with no sequester? Legal Expense = Legal Expense!" "The only thing Bragg has going for him is the Corrupt and highly Conflicted Judge - Which is a lot!!!" Trump added.

Defense and prosecution rested their cases last week after examining several witnesses for over a month. Both sides are expected to give their closing arguments on May 28.

Besides slamming Bragg, Trump also continued his attack against Judge Merchan, who oversaw the historic criminal trial. In another Truth Social post, the 45th president argued that he did nothing wrong. Furthermore, he said the NDAs in question were "totally legal and commonly used" and added the case against him had "no merit" as written by "virtually every legal Scholar and expert."

"My lawyers have informed me that the highly Conflicted and Corrupt Judge, Juan Merchan, will not allow RELIANCE ON COUNSEL, which virtually everyone is allowed to use, as an additional, though not needed because I did NOTHING WRONG, Defense," Trump continued, arguing it was a "disgrace" the prosecution brought the case which could have been done seven years ago.

Bragg and Merchan are not part of the gag order against Trump, which prevents the ex-president from making public remarks about the witnesses, prosecutors, court staffers, and their families.

Trump is the first president, former or sitting of the United States, to go for a criminal trial. Though Trump pleaded not guilty to the 34 counts, the 12-panel jury in the coming days would decide whether to convict the defendant.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 6: Former U.S. President Donald Trump attends his trial for allegedly covering up hush money payments at Manhattan Criminal Court on May 6, 2024 in New York City. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 presidential election. Prosecutors argued that Trump attempted to influence the election by paying hush money to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election to hide their sexual encounter. However, the indictment stemmed not from the payoff but from falsifying his business records to cover up the $130K payment.

Internet taunts Trump for attacking Alvin Bragg as the trial nears its end

The internet brutally mocked Trump's never-ending attacks against prosecutor Bragg despite the case reaching its final stage.

One user wrote, "Why are you so cranky? You had a nice day today. You got to wave at porta potties, pretend a race car stadium was there to cheer you, salute during 'Amazing Grace', and stare off into space while the car race was happening. Cheer up, guy."

Another remarked, "Bedtime Donnie. Take your pills and go nite nite! What a lonely lil man."

"He is scared. The problem is he will likely appeal and appeal and if sentenced it will be House Arrest, which the good news he will have to eventually attend all his other cases and trials which im sure some will be what he wants," a third user added.

A fourth response read, "Trump is on trial because of things Trump did all by himself. Not because of the prosecutor, not because of the judge. Trump screwed a pornstar then ordered his sleazebag lawyer to pay her off, and illegally covered up the payments. Then wrote it off."

Meanwhile, a user commented below the Raw Story article, "Trump. is desperate...The case is in the hands of the jury who have heard the evidence...Trump can run his mouth making all the claims he wants...in the end he had the change to present his side and now its iup to this jury.. All his whining and complaining.,.....what a little baby man. he is."

"Desperado Donnie getting more irrational every passing day- so boring already," another wrote. Another person added, "Sounds like... Panic."
