WASHINGTON, DC: It seems President Donald Trump is not in the mood to joke around and is very serious with his statements. After the Venezuela strike, Trump issued a chilling warning to Colombia.

Trump was on Air Force One when he issued a stern warning to Colombian President Gustavo Petro amid the unprecedented military action against the 'neighbor.' The recent attack on Venezuela by Trump resulted in the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

Trump labels Colombia a 'sick neighbor' amid regional tensions

Trump spoke to reporters following the strike in Venezuela on Saturday, January 3, which resulted in the capture of Nicolas Maduro and his wife. Following the Venezuela operation, Trump suggested that the US could take control of Greenland for “security concerns."

Now, Trump seems to be signaling possible action in Colombia. He criticized the Colombian president, calling him a “sick man.” “Now, we have a very sick neighbor. It's not a neighbor, but it's close to a neighbor. And that's Venezuela is very sick. Colombia is very sick, too, run by a sick man. Who likes making c***** and selling it to the United States. And he's not going to be doing it very long.”

When asked what he meant by “not going to be doing it very long,” Trump said, “He's not doing it very well. He has c***** Mills and c****** factories. He's not going to be doing it for long.” A reporter then asked if this meant there would be a US operation. Trump responded, “It sounds good to me. Yeah.”

These remarks came after Petro condemned the capture of Maduro as an “assault on the sovereignty” of Latin America. Petro has also repeatedly criticized Trump’s anti-d**g strategy, including military patrols and the potential for strikes on d**g-production facilities in Colombia.

Trump issues stern warnings to Mexico and Cuba

After the capture of Nicolas Maduro, Trump has also sent strong warnings to Mexico and Cuba, which have led to a rise in tensions across Latin America.

About Mexico, Trump said, “The cartels are running Mexico. She’s not running Mexico,” talking about Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. He also said she was “a good woman” but not really in charge. Trump added that he has asked Sheinbaum many times if she wants US help to “take out the cartels,” but she has always said no.

Cuba, a longtime ally of Maduro that has supported Venezuela with security and oil, is now also drawing Trump’s attention. Trump called Cuba a “failing nation” under President Miguel Diaz-Canel. He said the US wanted to “help the people in Cuba," as per The Federal.
