Trump says Ilhan Omar 'should be thrown out of the country' as long-running feud escalates
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump took his clash with Rep. Ilhan Omar to a whole new level this week. At a rally, he did not hold back, saying the Minnesota Democrat "should be thrown out of the country."
He also criticized immigration policies, Minnesota politics, and Somali migration to the United States.
The remarks quickly drew attention because Omar is not just one of Trump's most vocal political opponents. She is a sitting member of Congress and a naturalized American citizen who has represented Minnesota in Washington since 2019.
Trump reignites feud with Ilhan Omar during rally
Trump and Omar have spent years attacking one another, making their rivalry one of the most recognizable political feuds in modern American politics.
Trump's comments came as he criticized what he described as the political and cultural transformation of Minnesota, a state that has become home to one of the largest Somali-American communities in the country.

This was an absolute thrashing.
It ended with Trump saying Omar should be KICKED OUT of the United States.

“Somalia.”

"She honestly should be thrown out of the country," Trump said while discussing Omar before accusing her of being corrupt and claiming Minnesota's voting system was flawed.
“Look at what's happened in Minnesota. Somalia. All these people came in from Somalia. They ripped off our system,” Trump said.
During his first presidency, Trump frequently criticized Omar over her comments on foreign policy, immigration, and American institutions. Omar, meanwhile, emerged as one of Trump's fiercest congressional critics, often accusing him of promoting division and targeting immigrant communities.
“You have the woman who married her brother. She came in and married her brother. Isn’t that wonderful?”
“And then she talks about the Constitution of the United States. She comes from Somalia. They don’t have constitutions in Somalia.”
Omar had not immediately issued a detailed response, though she has repeatedly defended both her citizenship and her record in Congress whenever similar accusations have surfaced.
Immigration debate remains central to Trump-Omar feud
Beyond the personal clash, Trump's comments underscore how immigration and national identity continue to dominate American political discourse.
“And then she comes and tells us how to run our country.”
“I don’t like it. These people don’t like it, I can tell you. I think I can speak for you.”
“She comes in, Ilhan Omar; she comes in, she tells us how to run the United States of America.”
For many conservatives, Omar has become a symbol of broader debates surrounding immigration, assimilation, and the role newcomers play in shaping American culture and politics.
Supporters of the congresswoman argue she represents the success of the American dream, having arrived in the United States as a refugee before eventually winning elected office.
“And she says the Constitution of the United States protects me.”
“She shouldn’t be protected.”
“She honestly, she should be thrown out of the country.”
The most striking moment of Trump's remarks came when he referenced Omar's previous comments about constitutional protections.
"And she says the Constitution of the United States protects me," Trump said. "She shouldn't be protected. She honestly, she should be thrown out of the country."
Trump went on to describe Omar as "corrupt" and claimed that "most of the people that came in are corrupt," before also alleging that Minnesota's voting system is corrupt.
