LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Donald Trump's supporters took a dig at rock legend Rod Stewart following the singer's battle with strep throat and Covid-19 diagnosis, calling hill illness "karma" for mocking the former president's complexion.

The singer canceled two North American shows after he was diagnosed with Covid-19 just few days after he called off his Las Vegas concert on August 7 due to strep throat, according to People.

The 79-year-old rock star joked about the GOP nominee "turning orange," which led to mixed reaction from the audience.

In the backdrop of one of Stewart's concerts, he even displayed a meme mocking Trump's previous comments about Vice President Kamala Harris' race.

"I didn’t know he was Orange until a number of years ago, when he happened to turn Orange," read the post.

"I respect either one, but he obviously doesn’t because all of a sudden he made a turn and he went — he became an Orange person. I think somebody should look into that," the post added.

Rod Stewart's battle with illnesses

Stewart, who canceled two North American shows after Covid-19 diagnosis, was forced to cancel a landmark show at his Las Vegas residency due to strep throat.

Expressing his disappointment over the show's cancelation, Stewart took to Instagram to say, "I'm desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration."

“Most people can work with strep throat, but obviously not me. I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long,” he continued.

Internet mocks Rod Stewart after he joked about Donald Trump's complexion

While many fans conveyed well wishes to Rod Stewart's amid his recovery, Donald Trump's supporters took the opportunity to mock the singer's illness following his recent controversial remarks about the former president's complexion.

Under his Instagram post announcing the cancelation of his shows, one user wrote, "Err, really?? Maybe he can't face the backlash of his nasty comments," while another user commented, "Orange Karma train choo choo."

"Makes you wonder just how strong karma is Rod. #TRUMP2024" a netizen remarked. Another user penned, "Should have kept your mouth shut. Karma."
