WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump offered marital advice to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron after he was apparently shoved in the face by his wife, French first lady Brigitte Macron, just before deboarding their flight in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi on May 25.

The president was asked for his comment on the incident, to which he jokingly replied, “Make sure the door remains closed,” as reported by The New York Post.

He then further stated, “That was not good. No, I spoke to him and he’s fine, they’re fine. They’re two really good people. I know them very well.”

“And, I don’t know what that was all about but I know him very well and they’re fine,” Trump added.

Earlier a lip reader had shared what exactly happened after the incident between the French president and his 25 years older wife.

Lip reader claims Brigitte Macron called husband ‘loser’

They reportedly said, “Realizing the door is already open and staff are witnessing the interaction, Emmanuel appears uncomfortable and quickly raises his hand with a forced ‘Hi.’ He thanks the pilot and waves at the cameras, trying to recover the public-facing image.”

However, “things turn[ed] icy again” when Emmanuel and Brigitte were “at the top of the stairs,” the expert claimed.

When the 47-year-old leader “offers his arm; she ignores it, clinging to the railing instead. As she passes, she appears to mutter and lipread as 'Dégage, espèce de loser', translated in English 'Stay away, you loser,’” the analyst stated.

Giving their special comment, the lip reader added, “Hot Take: A rare unguarded exchange that hints at deeper tensions between the couple. One to watch, especially with a packed diplomatic schedule ahead.”

Besdies, as per body language expert Judi James, "Pushing your partner in the face with your hand so hard their head reels to the side and they need to put a hand out to keep balance... especially with what looks like an extra 'shove' at the end... should not be normalized by calling it 'fun' just to save political face."

Emmanuel Macron’s office calls hand-shoving incident ‘a moment of complicity’

Meanwhile, Macron tried to downplay the May 25 episode by saying, “Everyone needs to calm down. People are saying all sorts of nonsense.”

Also, a statement from his office said, “It was a moment where the president and his wife were decompressing one last time before the start of the trip by horsing around.”

“It’s a moment of complicity. It was all that was needed to give ammunition to the conspiracy theorists,” it added.
