WASHINGTON, DC: A draft of an unposted social media message from President Donald Trump has surfaced from the Oval Office, shedding light on what the president chose not to share publicly.

The revelation came after Eric Trump posted a picture on Friday, December 12, taken inside the Oval Office, where viewers spotted a written draft of the message that was never published online.

What was Trump’s unposted Truth Social post?

On Friday, December 12, Eric Trump shared an Instagram Story featuring a photo taken in the Oval Office. The picture showed his father, Donald Trump, with his hand resting on a sheet of paper labeled “Draft Truth.”

The draft, which was never posted, seemingly addressed the “severe storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides” that began on December 9 in Washington State.

The unshared post stated, “Earlier today, to protect the great people of Washington, I approved an immediate Disaster Declaration, Emergency Protection Measures, and Direct Federal Assistance to save lives.”

It continued, “The federal government has deployed resources, and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected. Please Thank you for your attention to the matter.”

Although the president approved the emergency declaration for Washington on December 12, he has not posted it on Truth Social, despite the draft sitting on his desk. But the president showcased a “new mirror and bronze lettering” along the Presidential Walk of Fame.

The absence of a post acknowledging the flooding is notable, given that Trump previously shared more than 160 posts within a nearly five-hour period.

It is worth noting that, in October, AP’s chief photographer in Washington, Evan Vucci, captured Secretary of State Marco Rubio handing President Trump a note that read, “We need you to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce deal first.”

Just two hours later, Trump posted on Truth Social that Israel and Hamas had agreed to a peace plan.

Rubio’s note came after Trump reportedly shared a private message intended for Attorney General Pam Bondi, whom he referred to as “Pam,” with the public.

The long post, published on September 20, addressed Bondi by name and expressed frustration that “nothing is being done” to hold his perceived enemies accountable.

He singled out former FBI Director James Comey, Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA), and New York Attorney General Letitia James, writing, “They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done.”

Trump added, “We can't delay any longer, it's killing our reputation and credibility.” He concluded by emphasizing, “They impeached me twice, and indicted me five times over nothing. Justice must be served now!!!”

According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump was "surprised to learn" that the message had reached his more than 10 million followers and reacted with a simple “Oh,” attempting to shrug off the mistake.
