LOS ANGELES, CALIORNIA: Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson became the focus of jokes on social media recently when he fell for a prank by YouTubers posing as "whistleblowers" of Kate Middleton, leading him to interview them.

Recently, Carlson's interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin stirred controversy. Carlson claimed that expensive lawyers warned him he might be detained if he traveled to Russia for the interview.

After the Putin interview, internet users criticized Carlson for accusing comedian Jon Stewart of being a government pawn. This backlash followed Stewart's sharp critique of Carlson's interview with Putin.

According to Deadline, Carlson was recently tricked into interviewing British YouTubers Josh Pieters and Archie Manners about an edited photo of Middleton released on Mother's Day.

Pieters and Manners fooled Carlson by pretending to be former digital content creators for the Prince and Princess of Wales. They claimed he was fired for poorly editing the Mother's Day image, which created much controversy.

As per Deadline, the YouTubers forged Kensington Palace employment documents, including a fake letter of engagement with an absurd clause stating the palace could amputate a limb if the whistleblower failed his probation period.

Despite this, Carlson's team did not spot the fake detail, and Manners was sent to a London studio for the interview.

In the clip, posted by Pieters on X, Carlson introduces Manners as his guest, saying, “We’ve done our best to verify that your identity is what you say it is. You’re not a fake Navalny or doing a prank.”

Manners, pretending to be a former palace employee, claimed, "Just before the coronation I was asked to help out with some of the videography."

As reported by Deadline, he further stated, "I was asked to edit a photograph, and now quite famous photograph of the three Cambridge children and the Duchess which was released to celebrate Mother's Day. I was fired for negligence because the editing that I did was found."

Manners revealed that the photo was taken by Middleton’s uncle during the holiday season, and he had to edit out a Christmas tree from the background. Carlson seemed satisfied with the interview, telling Manners, “That was great.” His staff told Manners that the interview would go public “early next week.”

Manners later explained to Deadline, that he and Pieters decided to reveal the prank to prevent misinformation from spreading.

Middleton's official photo with her children was retracted by several international news agencies on Mother's Day due to manipulation concerns. Following the backlash, Middleton expressed regret and apologized for experimenting with the photograph.
