MIAMI, FLORIDA: Speaking on Amazon Prime's 'Thursday Night Football' with Taylor Rooks, Tyreek Hill disclosed that his pregnant wife, Keeta Vaccaro, watched the video of him getting detained by the Miami-Dade police probably "100 times."

Admitting that he could not watch it more than once, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver said, "My mom, wife, they probably watched it 100 times," as per the New York Post.

The couple, who tied the knot in November 2023 after being engaged for more than two years, are reportedly expecting a baby girl.

On Sunday, September 8, Hill was detained for overspeeding while heading to the Hard Rock Stadium for the Miami Dolphins vs Jacksonville Jaguars game.

Tyreek Hill calls detainment 'traumatic' and 'embarrassing'

Tyreek Hill went on to say that his mother, Anesha Sanchez, got "madder" each time she rewatched the footage.

"I said, 'Let's not get mad. Let’s learn, because the more we get made, I feel like that's moving us backwards. It's all about accountability on both sides," shared the Dolphins wide receiver.

During the traffic stop, after a brief argument over keeping his car's window down, an officer dragged Hill out of his vehicle, forced him face-first onto the ground, and handcuffed him. On the body cam footage, one of the cops was seen putting their knee in the middle of the footballer's back.

According to the South Florida Police Benevolent Association, Hill, who received two citations for violating the seatbelt rule and careless driving, was detained for “driving in a manner in which he was putting himself and others in great risk of danger" and was handcuffed for "not immediately cooperating.

The Miami-Dade police department is currently investigating his detainment, and a 27-year-old officer has already been put on administrative leave.

Hill also shared the trauma he went through, indicating he was yet to completely grasp what happened.

"It’s tough, it’s hard. You know, going through something like that is traumatic, man. It’s embarrassing for my family, my kids, my wife especially — having my wife worry when she’s pregnant," expressed the 30-year-old.

The Dolphins' player stated that he would not let the detainment affect his performance on the field.

"Football is my sanctuary. This is where I pay my bills at. This is where I take care of my family," noted Hill.

The NFL star also claimed one of the officers pinched his neck to prompt a reaction while handcuffing him as he lay face down on the road out of Hard Rock Stadium.

In Sunday's match, he scored an 80-yard touchdown as an opener. Dolphins defeated the Jaguars, 20-17.

Internet thinks Tyreek Hill should have obeyed the police

While Tyreek Hill opened up about the "traumatic" detainment, the netizens weren't on the same page as him, with many thinking that he thinks he is above the law. The Dolphins star has faced multiple controversies over his career, including a domestic violence allegation.

One wrote, "He could have complied, taken a $100 speeding ticket and been on his way. instead, he had to act like a child, a stereo type, a jerk who doesn’t respect what police do for all of us, so he can make millions$ catching a ball."

Another said, "He is at fault not the cops. He is entitled and thinks he is above the law." "Maybe he shouldn't have been speeding and keep the window down," opined a person.

An individual remarked, "His window was up and they asked for it to be lowered, he was ignoring their requests but now he’s the victims because???"

"Perhaps, Tyreek should have followed police orders, rather than bowing up and flexing his notoriety and fame...Just sayin'," expressed another person.

One comment read, "If they can't figure out what they did wrong, they aren't very bright."
