Dolphins star Tyreek Hill faces backlash as video of his detainment over speed limit violation goes viral
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained for exceeding the speed limit on his way to the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday, September 8.
Soon after, the video of his detainment went viral on social media. It begins with a patrol officer stopping Hill's car and goes on to show a strained exchange between the NFL player and the officer.
The 30-year-old was seen disputing the traffic stop and showing irritation over the situation, following which another officer dragged him out of his luxurious McLaren sports car by his arm, placed him face-first onto the ground, and handcuffed him.
Hill, who was apparently driving at a speed of 60 mph (97 kph), received citations for reckless driving and failing to wear a seatbelt, but was never arrested.

Internet slams Tyreek Hill for overspeeding and reckless driving as video of detainment goes viral
As soon as the video surfaced on social media, netizens started slamming Tyreek Hill.
One said, "He was speeding and did not comply. He’s a hot head and an abuser."
Another wrote, "Doing 130 in a 35 and than refusing to talk to police about it is truly disgusting you are right. Then acting like you are a victim when you get arrested is also disgusting. Tyreek Hill is a f*****g joke."
"Tyreek Hill was recklessly driving and speeding to get to his game. He placed the public in danger by his behavior and actions. He owes the police department and public at large an apology. He is not above the law," expressed a person.
Someone else remarked, "Driving 120 in a 40, and wouldn’t put his window back down for the cop. He has responsibility in this. He thinks laws don’t apply to him with his NFL privilege. Again, no sympathy for a domestic abuser. At all."
One more pointed out, "Not opening tinted windows is always going to set the police off. Just follow instructions and don’t act like you are more important than anyone else. The police were wound tight but Tyreek does not come off well either."

Past controversies of Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill is commencing his third season with the Miami Dolphins. His career has been marked by various legal controversies starting from his college days.
In 2014, Hill was taken into custody and charged with the assault of his pregnant girlfriend; he entered a guilty plea to the charge of domestic assault.
He faced battery accusations in 2019, and recently, he reached a settlement with a Miami Beach business employee who claimed the footballer had assaulted him. In both instances, no charges were brought forward, and the NFL did not take disciplinary action against Hill.
