Venice Film Festival officials taking extra care to ensure Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie don't cross paths
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s conflict has reached such an extent that even the film festival organizers are taking extra measures to ensure their paths do not cross.
The 'Mr and Mrs Smith' stars - who have been locked in a contentious divorce battle since 2016 - will be appearing separately for the 81st Venice International Film Festival, which begins on August 28 and runs till September 7.
Later this month, both of them are scheduled to walk the red carpet at the event to promote their respective films. While Jolie will be there for the premiere of the Pablo Larrain-directed film 'Maria', Pitt will be present for the first showing of his upcoming thriller-comedy flick 'Wolfs'.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's schedules have been meticulously planned
As the feuding former couple will be there in Venice almost at the same time, the organizers have planned their itineraries in such ways that they would not cross paths.
The Venice Film Festival’s artistic director Alberto Barbera even confirmed the news during a recent Vanity Fair interview.
When asked if Jolie and Pitt have a chance of running into each other at the annual event, the artistic director confirmed that their appearances have "of course" been spaced out in a way that there is no potential run-in, as per People.
He explained, "Angelina will be on the first day, on Thursday [August] 29, and she will leave right after with ['Maria' director] Pablo Larraon to go to Telluride. Brad will arrive only on Saturday in Venice."
"There is no way that they can cross each other at the Lido," asserted Barbera.
Basically, when the 'Babylon' star touches down in Venice, Jolie will have already gone to the Telluride Film Festival, giving them a clear window to stay apart from each other and avoid a potential run-in.
Even though Jolie and Pitt have been legally single since 2019, they are still locked in a vicious court battle regarding their French winery - Chateau Miraval. Moreover, their divorce has been complicated by disagreements over custody.
As their divorce battle reaches the eight-year mark, the couple's elder children have openly dropped their father's last names, indicating a greater rift between the 'Troy' actor and his brood.
Brad Pitt said his career entered a new phase as he turned 60
During his latest interview with British GQ to promote his film 'Wolfs', Brad Pitt shared that his career has just entered a new phase as he turned 60.
He said, "I consider myself on my last leg. This last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?"
Pitt continued, "Well, now I’m doing one movie in a year and a half," adding, "I’m still kind of on the same trajectory. I feel the same. I’m really just trying to enjoy the people that I love around me and just living."
The 'Fight Club' star also touched on the reality of aging, adding a nod to the iconic Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry.
Pitt remarked, "In your 80s, the body becomes more frail. And yet I look at Frank Gehry. He’s just the loveliest man. And he’s 95 and still making great art and he’s got a beautiful family. And I think that’s kind of the formula to stay creative and keep loving your life."
