LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A source close to Brad Pitt has criticized Angelina Jolie's latest legal maneuvering in their protracted dispute over Chateau Miraval, the French winery they previously shared, as reported by PEOPLE.

Jolie's recent court filings accuse Pitt of attempting to coerce her into signing a revised non-disclosure agreement (NDA) designed to conceal alleged abuse and cover-ups.

Jolie’s attorneys have also sought to compel Pitt to reveal personal communications.

"This was a simple business dispute, but sadly, this legal attack is just the latest example of them harming the entire family by making it personal," the source states.

Pitt's legal team had earlier criticized Jolie's motion as being "wide-ranging and intrusive."

A source close to Pitt stated, "The other side is desperately and repeatedly trying to do anything to distract from the fact that it was her — and not Brad — who requested an NDA about the divorce, a fact which completely undermines the legitimacy of their never-ending attacks."

"They don't want anyone to focus on the fact that she deprived the kids of their inheritance of Miraval by breaching the agreement and selling it and taking the money."

According to Pitt’s camp, Jolie’s attempt to divert attention from her breach of agreement, which involved selling her share of the winery without Pitt’s approval, undermines the legitimacy of her claims.

Pitt initially filed a lawsuit in 2022 accusing Jolie of violating their agreement by selling her stake in Chateau Miraval to Tenute del Mondo, a third party.

This dispute intersects with ongoing custody conflicts involving their six children Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

An insider close to Jolie said, “Brad Pitt’s insistence on an NDA to cover up his criminal conduct is unconscionable, and no abuse survivor should be coerced and forced into silence. She never pressed charges, she left him all their properties, and she is the one who tried to sell him the business in the first place. Yet he was not satisfied and still he sued her and continues to attack her in the press today. All she wants is peace and the ability to heal their family.”

On July 15, Pitt's legal team requested the denial of Jolie's motion about her ex-husband's personal communications. They claimed Jolie sought sensitive information, including details about the therapy Pitt underwent following the 2016 family plane incident that led to their divorce.

Despite Pitt's willingness to provide documents detailing the flight's events, his attorneys argued that his communications from that time are irrelevant to the couple's winery dispute.

Jolie's lawyers argued in court documents that Pitt "waived any privacy protections when he sued Jolie" and that Jolie herself "has no desire to litigate these issues and for years never publicly discussed any of it."

As negotiations continue, a recent source revealed that the divorce settlement between Pitt and Jolie remains unresolved.

"Both sides are still talking," the source said "but it's not done yet."

The ongoing legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over their French winery, Chateau Miraval, has reignited public interest and online debate. Following comments from a source close to Pitt criticizing Jolie's legal actions, social media has been abuzz with varying perspectives.

One user expressed sadness over the couple's turmoil, reminiscing about their former status as a beloved Hollywood pair.

"I’m sad about this. They seem like a good couple, Hollywood’s tough. I was in the industry. It’s tough especially when women are throwing themselves at you. I know the feeling it’s tough being a sex symbol."

In contrast, another user questioned the narrative presented by Pitt’s camp, suggesting inconsistency in the accusations. "She asks for him to drop the lawsuit. But 'his sources' said she does the 'never-ending attack'? There is something wrong. He should be a more responsible father because those children are growing and can start to talk."

"He's the one attacking and suing her and acts like he's the victim of a vindictive woman. He needs to leave her alone and ffs move on. They got divorced 8 years ago," one user wrote.

Another user bluntly stated, "He abused his kids, he can go f**k himself."

"We all knew she never loved Brad Pitt even as she did everything to steal and indeed stole him from his first wife Jennifer. Angelina fame-mongering & self-centered narcissist who happens to be sick with Borderline Personality Disorders & alienating the kids from their father," another user commented.
