Vincent Pastore's longtime friend reveals funeral plans after 'The Sopranos' actor's death at 80

BRONX, NEW YORK: The death of Vincent Pastore has brought a wave of mourning to his family, friends, and co-stars. Now, plans for his funeral service have been revealed. 

According to TMZ, Pastore's funeral service is planned for later this week in New Rochelle, New York. The location was chosen because it was the late actor's final wish, the outlet reported.

According to the publication, Pastore's longtime friend and self-described "right-hand man," Stephen Villano, said the actor's family is planning a funeral service for his near and dear ones in the coming days to celebrate his life. 

However, no one from his family has shared any additional details about the memorial service or how 'The Sopranos' actor will be honored. It remains unclear whether the service will be public or private, as those details are still being kept under wraps.

Apart from the funeral details, Villano also shared how his friend loved mentoring others. "He used to tell them, 'It's a one-in-a-million chance of making it, but look at me. It's part luck, who you are, how you train, and hard work... but you can do it just as I did,'" the actor's friend shared. "He was a simple guy. He never let fame go to his head."

Vincent Pastore was found dead at his Bronx apartment

Pastore was found lifeless at his Bronx apartment by his friends on Saturday, August 1. Meanwhile, the New York Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a 911 call around 2.30 pm., reporting an "unconscious and unresponsive" 80-year-old man.

The actor was pronounced dead, and no one was arrested. The Chief Medical Examiner's Office, according to NBC News, stated that it will determine the cause of death. 

For those unaware, Pastore was born in the Bronx and grew up in New Rochelle, New York. The actor also served in the Navy and attended Pace University. Pastore first became a well-known figure after landing a role in 'Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn', but it was 'The Sopranos' that earned him widespread fame.

Apart from this, Pastore also appeared in 'Law & Order' and Martin Scorsese's 1990 mob classic 'Goodfellas'.
