BRONX, NEW YORK: The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of veteran actor Vincent Pastore, who died at the age of 80. Best known for his iconic portrayal of Salvatore Bonpensiero in HBO's crime drama series 'The Sopranos', Pastore left an incredible mark on both the small and big screen.

Over his decades-long career, he became a beloved figure among audiences and colleagues alike, revered for his commanding screen presence and warm personality off-camera.

Following the news of his passing, former co-star Michael Imperioli shared a heartfelt tribute to the actor.

Michael Imperioli mourns Vincent Pastore's death

Imperioli took to Instagram to share a tribute alongside a throwback photograph of the two together.

Reflecting on their close bond, Imperioli paid heartfelt homage to his late castmate, describing him as "our beloved friend and collaborator" while expressing his grief by saying, "I miss him always."

Looking back on their decades-long friendship, Imperioli shared, "Our beloved friend and collaborator VINCENT PASTORE has passed away. This is a hard one for us, it seems like I’ve known Vinny forever."

He added, "We did lots of work together and traveled all over the USA as well as Italy and Australia. Lots of good times. Lots of laughs. Vinny was a kind hearted brother who cared deeply about his family and friends. I will miss him always."

Vincent Pastore dies at 80

Pastore was found dead at his home on City Island in the Bronx on Saturday, August 1, after being discovered by a neighbor.

Following the news of his passing, heartfelt tributes poured in from his longtime manager and former 'The Sopranos' castmates.

For those unfamiliar with his journey, Pastore was born in the Bronx in 1946 and served in the Vietnam War before pursuing his dream of becoming an actor.

He later earned a drama degree from Pace University and gradually established himself in Hollywood with supporting roles in acclaimed films such as 'Goodfellas' (1990) and 'Carlito's Way' (1993).

A major turning point in his career came in 1996 with HBO's 'Gotti', a performance that helped open the door to the role that ultimately made him a television legend.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee. His passing marks the end of a decades-long career that left a lasting impact on television and film, while those who knew him continue to remember him for his generosity, kindness, and enduring legacy.
