NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Vivienne joined her mother as they attended the 77th Annual Tony Awards in New York City on Sunday, June 16.

The 15-year-old, who has been credited alongside her mother, 49, for the Broadway production, cut a striking figure on Sunday as she joined her mother in matching outfits.

The ‘Maleficent’ actress, on the other hand, opted for a teal-colored velvet gown with a matching shawl casually thrown over her shoulders. She accessorized with dainty earrings and chunky bracelets to complete her look.

The night turned out to be quite marvelous for Vivienne as she crossed paths with other celebrities including the host, Ariana DeBose, and singer Alicia Keys.

Angelina Jolie recounted how her daughter collaborated with her

During an interview with Deadline earlier in June, the ‘The Tourist’ actress revealed how she became involved in the Broadway production.

“My daughter Viv loves theater,” gushed the proud mother, before adding, “She appreciates all theater but she certainly knows what she feels close to and what she responds to.”

Jolie added, “She went to see The Outsiders at La Jolla about five times and was telling me about it, and I had read the book, and I'd seen the film years ago.”

Jolie added that after viewing the project with her daughter, she noted its effect on Vivienne, saying, “I was learning what about it was important to her and why it connected so deeply to her.”

Soon, the mother-daughter duo were contacted by the producers who asked them to share their thoughts on the production.

“So Viv and I sat together and we wrote down what we liked, what we were curious about,” shared the ‘Maleficent’ actress and noted, “And they responded to our notes. For me, it was a moment to learn more about Viv, not me thinking of becoming a producer.”

She continued, “I think at some point, it just felt the team seemed to feel that we were adding to it, so I really wanted to just be a support and listen and share my thoughts where useful.”

“Most of the time, I was simply just listening. I have so much respect for Danya and her work,” Jolie remarked referencing to director Danya Taymor.

“And as a director I learned so much watching her, how she makes sure the artists who were doing such special work were heard and supported,” continued the ‘Maleficent’ star before noting that her daughter was “there the whole time.”

Several other Jolie-Pitt children also dropped their father’s surname

Vivienne is, however not the only child from the Jolie-Pitt brood to have relinquished their father’s surname.

After it was reported by People that Vivienne dropped ‘Pitt’ from her name, reports also surfaced that her elder sister Shiloh filed a legal petition on May 27 to drop the ‘Inglourious Basterds’ star’s surname after she turned 18.

Vivienne’s other sister Zahara, 19, too dropped her Pitt surname last year when she introduced herself at the AKA sorority at Spelman College, saying, “My name is Zahara Marley Jolie.”

The ex-couple’s two elder children, Pax, 20, and Maddox, 22, dropped their father’s name long before.

The former couple share six children between them - three biological children Shiloh along with the twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, and three adopted children, Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and also Zahara, 19.
