CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was visibly moved by the resounding applause as she stepped onto the stage at the Democratic National Convention, dabbing at her tears amid the cheering.

The Democratic National Convention was approaching its final hours on Thursday, August 22, with high anticipation for Vice President Kamala Harris' appearance and the possibility of another surprise guest.



 

Elizabeth Warren receives warm welcome at DNC

Elizabeth Warren, who garnered an intense following that momentarily propelled her to the forefront of the 2020 Democratic primary, took the stage early in the event. 

The applause continued for over ninety seconds, and the ovation was still robust as a touched Warren began her speech, Mediaite reports.

Sen Bob Casey said, "Please welcome Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren."

The crowd erupted in loud cheers and gave Warren a standing ovation. She wiped away her tears as the applause continued.

Warren said, "You know what I love best about Kamala Harris? Kamala Harris can’t be bought and she can’t be bossed around. Now. I first met Kamala in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crash."

She went on to say, "The banks had flat out broken laws, cheated people and stolen homes. Millions of Americans had lost their jobs, their savings, their homes.

Now, I was setting up the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Kamala was protecting families as California’s attorney general."

As soon as Elizabeth Warren's video surfaced on the social media, users started reacting to it.

A user said, "Elizabeth Warren has been an inspiration for years. A deserved moment."
