KITTANNING, PENNSYLVANIA: Former president Donald Trump gifted $100 to a mother of three to help pay for her groceries at a Pennsylvania supermarket.

A video widely shared online showed the GOP presidential nominee giving a $100 bill to the woman who was checking out at a local grocery store in Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, on Monday, September 23.

Offering the surprise gift, Donald Trump said, "Here, it’s gonna go down a little. It just went down 100 bucks," according to the New York Post.

The unexpected conversation and the $100 prompted the woman to chuckle along with those who stood near her. "Thank you so much," she responded.

After handing over the money, Donald Trump reiterated his pledge to decrease the grocery prices if elected to the White House in November.

"We’ll do that for you from the White House, alright?" Trump told the woman.

He then complimented her three sons, who stood next to the woman. Asking if they were her children, the MAGA leader said, "Beautiful. Perfecto."

During his visit to the local supermarket, Trump also purchased a large bag of popcorn before moving on to his campaign rally in Indiana, Pennsylvania.

In his recent rally addresses, the former president has touted how women would be better off if he was elected in November instead of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Addressing rallygoers in North Carolina last week, Trump claimed that American women were currently poorer, less healthy, and had to pay more for groceries as compared to four years ago.

He added that if he won the election, "Women will be happy, healthy, confident, and free. You will no longer be thinking about abortion because it is now where it always had to be, with the states."

In his efforts to boost female voters' support, Trump reiterated the promises at a Pennsylvania rally on September 23, declaring, 'I am your protector. I want to be your protector," The Hill reported.

With inflation and surging gas and grocery prices being the primary issues ahead of the November election, Trump has promised to bring down the prices for both.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, the inflation rate under President Joe Biden was the highest it had been in four decades, when it hit 9.1% in June 2022. However, it dropped to 2.5% this August.

Internet divided as Donald Trump gives $100 to woman at grocery store

Donald Trump's $100 gift to a mother of three during his supermarket visit in Pennsylvania sparked debate and received mixed reactions online. While one group of netizens praised the former president's action, some deemed it a cheap performance, being a lowly amount.

"Trump cares about all of us. He’s a leader," one social media user said.

"Reminds me of middle school candidates giving out cookies before student elections," another added.

"This is the side of Trump the media will NEVER show you!" one person wrote.

"Instead of a heart felt personal touch putting it in her hand and not mentioning politics, she gets a cold toss of a $100 bill from a guy that could have bought all her groceries. but he doesn't care," another added.

"He's the type of boss you enjoy working with. Rare," someone else said.

On the other hand, an individual remarked, "This is what is called a video op. Wasn’t even his $100 bill…"

"Because he has the means to do this, and people forgot he actually a nice guy, and a human. He has a long history of doing random acts of kindness," another chimed in.

"Stop it, how cheap a performance. Trump has never paid his contractors without first a lawsuit. Cheap acting," one individual wrote.
