WASHINGTON, DC: Tensions within the Republican Party reached a boiling point on Friday, April 19, as Donald Trump Jr ignited a firestorm of outrage against House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for advancing a bipartisan foreign aid package to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

In a scathing social media post, the former President's son accused Johnson of betraying promises to secure the US border first, sharing a mocking video clip that juxtaposed the Speaker's statements on border security with his support for the aid package, as per Mediaite.

The package, approved by the House with a vote of 316 to 94, garnered more support from Democrats than Republicans and has faced strong opposition from those aligned with the America First stance of former President Donald Trump regarding foreign aid.

Trump has vocally opposed additional aid to Ukraine, and several of his allies in the House, aligned with the MAGA movement, have threatened consequences for Speaker Johnson if the aid bill goes through.

"Enough already! If you ever even begin to start believing anything anyone in Republican leadership tells you, just watch this. Pay close attention to those that don't seem bothered by this. They're not our friends," Trump Jr wrote on X.

"How can we be engaged in securing the border of foreign countries if we can't secure our own?... It's past time to secure the border," Johnson is shown saying, followed by him stating, "We know the urgency in Ukraine that we're going to stand for freedom and make sure that Vladimir Putin doesn't march through Europe."

While the GOP has insisted on prioritizing border security before allocating additional foreign aid, the majority of Republicans remain strongly opposed to Putin and his potential invasion of other European nations.
