LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Wendy Williams, the former television host known for her candid talk show, is facing financial woes as Uncle Sam demands payment for back taxes on her New York condo.

The federal government issued a warning to Williams, urging her to settle the outstanding amount to avoid potential penalties and interest.

Additionally, the federal government indicated it has been trying to collect for some time.

"We have made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid. Therefore, there is a lien in favor of the United States on all property and rights to property belonging to this taxpayer for the amount of these taxes, and additional penalties, interest, and costs that may accrue."

The legal paperwork, dated January 17, 2024, outlines the significant sum owed by Williams, highlighting the ongoing efforts by the federal government to collect the outstanding taxes. Despite previous demands for payment, the debt remains unpaid, prompting the imposition of a lien on Williams' property and assets.

Williams' financial struggles have recently come to light, notably in the controversial Lifetime documentary, 'Where Is Wendy Williams?' The documentary revealed the involvement of a court-ordered guardian in managing her finances after Williams claimed her bank accounts were frozen by Wells Fargo in 2022.

In response to the financial challenges, Williams filed a lawsuit against Wells Fargo, alleging financial exploitation and demanding the release of her funds. However, Wells Fargo countered, expressing concerns about Williams' mental state and her susceptibility to exploitation, leading to the court's decision to place her under guardianship.

Williams' financial and health struggles were laid bare, including her diagnosis of primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, conditions impacting communication and cognitive function.

Amid ongoing legal battles and health concerns, Williams' family has expressed worry about her well-being, with her son attributing her condition to alcohol use. Williams is reportedly undergoing treatment, seeking support for her health and financial challenges.

Kevin Hunter, the former husband of Wendy Williams, has stirred controversy by demanding the financial guardian of the former TV host to fulfill overdue divorce settlement payments, alleging he has not received them for the past two years.

According to reports, Hunter claims he has not received any payments since 2022, just before a legal financial guardian was appointed for Williams. He emphasized the impact of the lack of payments on his livelihood, stating, “I rely on the severance pay for my living expenses, and having been without this income for twenty-three months has affected me greatly.”

In his court filings, Hunter requested the immediate payment of all overdue severance payments and urged Williams’ guardian to sign a Qualified Domestic Relations Order for the AFTRA Retirement Plan, or to appoint him an Attorney in Fact to execute the document if Williams fails to comply within seven days.

Hunter’s demands also extend to accessing Williams’ bank records, as he alleges that during a mediation session in December 2022, agreements were made to provide financial statements and bank records, which have not been fulfilled.
