Wendy Williams says she 'needed a breath of fresh air'
Wendy Williams began the interview by sharing details about her recent hospital visit and her decision to undergo an independent psychological evaluation, which she passed with flying colors earlier this week.
She told 'The View' host Sunny Hostin, "I needed a breath of fresh air. I needed to see the doctor, so that’s why I went to the hospital."

Williams also revealed that she had bloodwork done for her thyroid condition, emphasizing that the decision to get an independent evaluation was hers alone.
"It was my choice to get an independent evaluation on my incapacitation, which I don’t have it," she said, before adding, "How dare they say I have incapacitation. I do not!”
It’s important to note that Wendy Williams was taken to the hospital on Monday after seeking assistance from paparazzi outside her luxury living facility in Hudson Yards.
MEAWW had previously reported that Williams was offered the chance to live in a peaceful environment by former child star Brock Pierce.
Wendy Williams details her dinner outing with niece
During her interview with 'The View', Wendy Williams also opened up about a dinner outing with her niece that led to complications at her luxury living facility.
To provide context, Williams recently went on a dinner date with her niece, Alex Finnie, which reportedly caused tension with the staff at her $18,000-a-month facility, which she has referred to as a “luxury prison."
She explained, “It was great at first… They got me at the hospital, and then — with permission from the guardian, of course — we left the hospital by ambulance, and we stayed [at the living facility] for about an hour because we knew were going out to eat, just to celebrate life."
Williams then went into more detail about the outing, saying, “We went to Tucci, great dinner! There were paparazzi, so we stopped. That’s what I do. I stopped, posed, and these two people that work here… they’re downstairs waiting for me. I’m not permitted to do anything, but stay on this floor, memory unit.”
She added that the memory unit is intended for elderly clients well beyond her age, asking, “I’m 60! Why am I here?!”
During the conversation, Sunny Hostin expressed gratitude to Williams for helping her get started in media when she worked as her “legal eagle” during Williams’ radio days.

Hostin then asked Williams about her future in broadcasting, to which the former host responded that it seems unlikely under her current guardianship.
“I’ve been doing important things all of my life, and these two people don’t look like me. They don’t talk like me. They don’t act like me. They will never be me. I need them to get off my neck!” Williams added.
