Wendy Williams’ pal blasts her ‘controlling’ guardianship after former TV host was rushed to hospital

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A longtime friend of Wendy Williams has called out her “controlling” guardianship as the former TV host was recently taken to a New York hospital to undergo cognitive evaluation.
Regina Schell has known Williams since the age of 13, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Since 2022, the media personality has been under legal guardianship of Sabrina Morrissey, a New York attorney, and has been living at an assisted living facility in NYC since 2023.
Williams has always dismissed claims that she is “cognitively impaired” and pleaded for help numerous times, including on Monday, March 10, when she dropped a note that read “Help! Wendy!!” from her window. After that, she was taken from the facility to a hospital in an ambulance for a wellness check.
Regina Schell claims Wendy Williams would never squander her money
Now, Regina Schell has cast doubts over Sabrina Morrissey. The friend also hinted that Morrissey is taking advantage of Williams, who had a $55 million fortune in 2022 but has now been left with only $15.
Schell told the publication that Williams "would never fritter away her millions".
The longtime pal of the TV legend also discussed Williams’ reunion with her family and son Kevin Hunter Jr in 2024 as she attended his college graduation from Florida International University.
Regina Schell finds Wendy Williams’ condition suspicious
Regina Schell stated, “It looks to me more likely that Wendy has been allowed down to Florida to see family, where many of them are based. She was surrounded by security, it feels a bit contrived.”
“I'm just not convinced by this video that she's OK. If she was free to do as she pleases, she'd call me. Really, it's so smelly. I want my friend to be OK,” she asserted.
Schell also believes that Williams' family, including her ex-husband Kevin Hunter and their son Kevin Jr, have not been informed properly about her whereabouts.
“There's this narrative they are portraying that she was out of control. There's no proof of this,” she said.
Regina Schell blasts Wendy Williams’ documentary
Besides, Regina Schell even slammed the Lifetime documentary, 'Where is Wendy Williams?’ that showed the former TV host in a miserable state.
She claimed, “On the documentary, they showed [stacks] of money. [Williams] would never show money. She would never have bottles of alcohol on her table. They had me leave by the time they started filming that stuff.”
“To see it was shocking. She would never do that. I lived there for a couple of months, she did not have alcohol lying around on her countertops,” Williams' friend continued.

Schell also explained that the 60-year-old is not someone who would “allow herself to be on camera without her wig on. All these things are just very suspicious to me as someone who's known her as long as I have – very out of character.”
“If you cared about her and you wanted to portray her in a positive way, that's not the way to do it. Why would Wendy go along with that?” she added.
Regina Schell determined to 'free' Wendy Williams
Referring to Wendy Williams’ 2023 aphasia and frontotemporal dementia diagnosis, her friend mentioned, “The deterioration in this is so quick – that's what gets me. Dementia is a progressively deteriorating disease, I get that, but it's not supposed to happen that quickly.”
Further sharing her fear for her friend, Schell said, “There's this background team, who we've never seen, telling us she has dementia.”
“What's frightening is that I don't know where she is, and the fact that she's in that woman's clutches is alarming to say the least because you just don't know if someone's getting three regular meals a day, it's pretty unpleasant,” she claimed.
Schell, however, also asserted that she “won't stop until I free Wendy".
