WH drops blistering video response to ‘crying’ Selena Gomez as angry moms ask ‘what about our children?’
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump’s administration responded to Selena Gomez's Instagram video, where she cried over the crackdown on deportations of undocumented immigrants, by publishing a video on their official social media pages on Friday, January 31.
The video, titled 'Moms of Victims of Illegal Aliens SLAM Selena Gomez: You Didn’t Cry for Our Daughters' shows three mothers whose children were allegedly killed by undocumented people getting critical of the singer, according to People.
Kayla Hamilton, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Rachel Morin were murdered by illegal aliens.

White House responds to Selena Gomez with video featuring victims' mothers
The White House Instagram page captioned the clip, "Kayla Hamilton, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Rachel Morin were murdered by illegal aliens. Their courageous mothers had something to say to @SelenaGomez and those who oppose securing our borders. WATCH!"
In the video, Alexis Nungaray, mother of Jocelyn Nungaray says, "Seeing that video, it’s hard to believe that it’s actually genuine and real because she’s an actress."
Tammy Nobles, mother of Kayla Hamilton, says in the clip, "What about our children who were brutally beaten and killed to death?"
In the later part of the video, she says, "I am so happy that Trump won. I’m so glad that this is one of the first bills to help with immigration."
Criticizing Gomes for her video, Patty Morin, mother of Rachel Morin added, "I just feel like it’s a ruse to deceive people and to garner sympathy for lawlessness."
Notably, Nungaray’s daughter Jocelyn, 12, was killed in Houston in June 2024 whereas Nobles’ daughter Kayla Hamilton, 20, and Morin’s daughter Rachel, 37, were killed in 2022 and 2023.
Selena Gomez faces backlash for her video
Selena Gomez, who herself is a Texas-born Mexican-American, published an Instagram Stories video of herself in tears on January 27, with the text "I'm sorry" and a Mexican flag emoji.
Notably, the video was deleted quickly but it had been since circulated across social media.

Internet divided as White House responds to Selena Gomez's video
People on the internet stayed divided and shared mixed reactions as the White House responded to Selena Gomez's Instagram video by publishing a video on their official social media pages on Friday.
A user wrote on X, "@selenagomez you should be ashamed &owe America an apology," while one added, "Selena Gomez is a hypocrite. What she did was an insult to the victims families."

Meanwhile, there were few who thought it was "unprofessional" to post the video on the White House's official page. An Instagram comment read, "Why is this on the White House page? This is inappropriate and very unprofessional," while one commented, "What the hell is happening. How is the White House oficial page posting this? Are you serious?"
