WASHINGTON, DC: A routine White House press briefing quickly turned chaotic as Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced questions regarding President Joe Biden's unsubstantiated claims that his late uncle might have been eaten by cannibals during World War II, as per Mediaite.

Fox News' White House correspondent Peter Doocy pressed Jean-Pierre for details on the controversial remarks made by the POTUS during his speech to the United Steelworkers Union in Pittsburgh.

Recounting a story about his late uncle, Ambrose Finnegan, who served in World War II, Biden said, "He flew those single-engine planes as reconnaissance over war zones, and he got shot down in New Guinea. They never found the body because there used to be, there were a lot of cannibals, for real, in that part of New Guinea."

However, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency's records contradict the POTUS' account, stating that Finnegan's plane experienced an engine failure and had to ditch at low altitude as opposed to being shot down.

In a tense White House press briefing on Friday, April 19, Jean-Pierre found herself embroiled in a heated exchange with Doocy over President Biden's recent remarks about his late uncle's fate during World War II.

"Why is President Biden saying that his Uncle Bozey was eaten by cannibals?" questioned Doocy. Jean-Pierre initially tried to deflect, stating that Biden had an "emotional and symbolic moment" honoring his uncle's service.

She emphasized the POTUS' commitment "to be there as president to speak to the bravery of his uncle and not just his uncle, but many US service members."

However, Doocy persisted, highlighting the inconsistency between Biden's account and official Pentagon records. "Why is President Biden saying he was shot down — there’s not evidence of that — and why is he saying his uncle was eaten by cannibals? That’s a bad way to go," inquired the Fox News correspondent.

After his comments generated some chuckles, Jean-Pierre reprimanded him for not taking the matter seriously. She stressed, "We should not make jokes about this." "It’s not. President Biden said his uncle was eaten by cannibals!" retorted Doocy.

Subsequently, Jean-Pierre stated, "Your last line, it’s for a laugh. It’s for a funny statement and [President Biden] takes this very seriously. His uncle, who served and protected this country, lost his life serving and that should matter."

"Where did the cannibalism come from?" pressed Doocy once more, leading the press secretary to respond, "I think you’re missing the point," as she stressed Biden's commitment to honoring veterans.

Internet mocks Karine Jean-Pierre over her exchange with Peter Doocy about President Joe Biden's cannibal story

One quipped, "Every press conference is like an SNL skit at this point. She's just a terrible improv performer," and another remarked, "This idiot makes fellow idiots Jen Psaki and Sean Spicer look like the greatest press secretaries ever."

A person took aim at Jean-Pierre's credibility, stating, "KJP's eyes are having seizures because she's lying so badly here... She has THE WORST poker face."

Meanwhile, someone else speculated, "Who wants to take bets on when KJP has a complete meltdown on live TV because she can't take the charade anymore?"

"She talks so much s**t. I know she's doing her job, but for Christ's sake, she's utterly embarrassing herself and the position she holds. Shame on you America," expressed an individual.

One more shared, "It's unbelievable how much garbage she is willing to facilitate and disseminate," and another person questioned Jean-Pierre's continued tenure, writing, "After all this time. She's still the Press Secretary! They can't find a willing competent person to take her place. Why would you?"
