‘Yellowstone’ star Dawn Olivieri holds Kevin Costner's departure responsible for another death on show
Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers from the series.
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Yellowstone’ star Dawn Olivieri has shared her honest thoughts about her exit from the neo-Western drama television series.
Olivieri’s character Sarah Atwood was killed off in the Sunday, November 24, episode of the show after the death of Kevin Costner's lead character John Dutton, as per Daily Mail.
Now, the 43-year-old actress has revealed her apparent disappointment as she said, “I did know there was an exit strategy for him [Kevin], but I don't think I was supposed to go as soon as I did.”
Dawn Olivieri thought she will be cast in ‘next season’
She continued, “I think that was going to happen, but because we had to wrap this all up at lightning speed, I think it had to go down the way it went.”
During another interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the ‘1883’ star disclosed, “I believe I was meant to go into the next season and continue on as a character. So I think because of the situation, everything got changed around.”
“The storyline had to go full throttle to figure out how to tie up every end and move things along,” she noted.
Olivieri, however, added, “I’m grateful. It’s a pretty monumental role that I think goes down in history in a way because of what happened and how it played out.”
Dawn Olivieri will now be seen in ‘Lioness’
Meanwhile, the ‘House of Lies’ actress has now been shifted to showrunner Taylor Sheridan’s other show ‘Lioness’.

She mentioned, “He moved me there. They didn't want to announce that beforehand, because that would be a spoiler and tip everyone off.”
“It's out of control. He's a crazy man, and I love it so much!” she asserted.

“I want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that’s required, and thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love, I just realised that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5B or into the future,” he shared.
The 69-year-old filmmaker added, “It was something that really changed me. I loved it. And I know you loved it. And I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning and I love the relationship we’ve been able to develop and I’ll see you at the movies.”
