NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: David Crowe, known for his stalking of pop star Taylor Swift, is back in the news as he has been declared unfit for trial and consequently sent to a mental health facility.

Swift's stalker will be transferred from Rikers, where he was reportedly held on a $100,000 bail, to a mental health facility, as reported by TMZ.

The law student from Seattle had reportedly violated a protective order to stay away from Swift's home and had seen there over 30 times since November.

He was arrested for the second time on January 22 for behaving erratically outside Swift's apartment. On January 24, he was arraigned and issued a protection order.

Crowe was charged with fourth-degree stalking and first- and second-degree harassment before being released under supervision.

However, he was seen rummaging through a dumpster near Swift's Tribeca home the same day, causing concern among neighbors.

The NYPD responded to a 911 call about a disorderly male on Franklin Street at 1:35 pm. Crowe left the scene but was later taken into custody at the first precinct.

Robert Rosenthal is a judge at the Criminal Court of the City of New York. He was elected to the court in 2019, per The Western Journal. Recently, he made headlines for dismissing the criminal case against Crowe, ruling him unfit for trial.
