'A loser would say that': Nikki Haley slammed for claiming RNC is 'clearly not' honest broker in GOP race
WASHINGTON, DC: In a sharp rebuke, GOP presidential contender Nikki Haley criticized the Republican National Committee (RNC), alleging bias within the party in the ongoing primary race for the 2024 presidential election, reported the New York Post.
In an interview on NBC's 'Meet the Press' on Sunday, January 28, the former South Carolina Governor was asked whether she thought the RNC had been an honest broker in picking the party's presidential nominee.
"I mean, clearly not. If you're gonna go in and basically tell the American people that you're gonna go and decide who the nominee is after only two states have voted? I mean, 48 states out there?" Haley replied. "This is a democracy. The American people want to have their say in who is going to be their nominee," she added.

Haley: “Trump overstepped when he pushed them to” unify around him.@kwelkernbc: Do you have actual knowledge that he asked the RNC to do that?

Haley made the remarks after reports of the RNC's draft resolution to declare the GOP frontrunner Donald Trump as the presumptive nominee in light of his landmark victories in Iowa and New Hampshire. However, Trump opposed the draft resolution on Truth Social, expressing his wish to continue in the "Old Fashioned" way and finish the electoral process "off AT THE BALLOT BOX."
The former UN ambassador, the sole GOP opponent to the ex-President, continued the race after her 11-point loss in New Hampshire.
Nikki Haley accuses Trump of pressuring RNC to back him
Haley further claimed it was wrong for the former President to pressure the RNC to support him. When asked what was her "actual knowledge" of the allegation, the White House hopeful said that it was Trump who asked the RNC to cancel the debates.

"I mean, we know exactly — the people that pushed it are his people. And I know that during the debates, I mean, he was pushing Ronna McDaniel to stop the debates. He was calling her every other day," she claimed, referring to the RNC terminating the debates as Trump refused to attend the earlier four events.
"He's been pushing them to pay for his lawsuits and all of these other things, but at the end of the day, this is not about the RNC. This is about the American people. This is not about a, you know, a political party deciding who they want to be the nominee," she continued.

According to another report by the New York Post, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told Fox News on January 23, "I'm looking at the math and the path going forward, and I don't see it for Nikki Haley. We need to unite around our eventual nominee, which is going to be Donald Trump."
The Republican primary race narrowed down into a Trump vs Haley showdown after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis pulled out of the race ahead of the New Hampshire primary and endorsed the ex-President.
