DES MOINES, IOWA: Iowa Gov Kim Reynolds declared her decision to support former President Donald Trump if he becomes the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election, reported The Hill.

Fox News's Neil Cavuto asked Reynolds on Monday, January 15, if she shared GOP presidential hopeful Nikki Haley's view of voting for Trump if the election comes down to a Biden-Trump rematch.

"I've made it clear that I will," the Governor outrightly stated.

"I'm a Republican, and you know, all of the candidates running are going to be better than what we have."

Reynolds's remarks came hours before Trump tasted a landslide victory in the Iowa caucus, boosting his presidential bid and leading to a potential GOP presidential nomination

Ron DeSantis, endorsed by the Iowa governor, stood second, followed by Haley.

Kim Reynolds to support Trump despite criticisms

Host Cavuto asked Reynolds if she would support the former president despite his harsh criticisms when she announced her endorsement of DeSantis in November 2023.

"We've got to win. I mean, we are resilient people. This country is in trouble. Look at the southern border," she stated.

She expressed her confidence that DeSantis would win in Iowa, which did not happen, and added, "I am a Republican. We need to make sure that we don't reelect President Biden for another four years."

Trump went ballistic when Reynolds chose to back the Florida Governor.

Accoring to a report by The Hill, he slammed the Governor's decision, writing on Truth Social: "I opened up the Governor position for Kim Reynolds, & when she fell behind, I ENDORSED her, did big Rallies, & she won." Trump added, "Now, she wants to remain 'NEUTRAL.' I don't invite her to events! DeSanctus down 45 points!"

Nevertheless, she recently made headlines for allegedly using an X account to support DeSantis while criticizing the Republican frontrunner.
