Melanie Martin has confirmed through DNA testing that the late singer, Aaron Carter, is the father of Prince, dispelling speculation about the child's paternity.
Martin claimed she had been plagued by damaging claims for years and blasted the speculations regarding her son's paternity. She observed that the fervor of these rumors increased dramatically after Aaron died in 2022.
Martin added that she and her son have been subjected to "death threats and other forms of harassment" over the years. Even though she first declined to respond to these "baseless" inquiries and rumors, she admitted it was time to set the record straight.
She told TMZ, "I have been very fortunate to be able to shield my son from all of it so far, but as my son is getting older and is learning how to read, I have decided to put an end to these rumors once and for all."
Martin revealed the findings of a recent DNA test taken by her, Prince, her late fiance's twin sister Angel Carter, which confirmed, "without a shadow of a doubt," that the 'Crush on You' singer was the father of the 3-year-old kid.
According to the test, Angel and Prince have a 99.7403 per cent "probability of relationship", per Daily Mail.

Martin further told PEOPLE, "We're doing good. He will be turning three soon. [We are] lucky to have each other. He's the best little boy, and he's really smart."

Aaron Carter died few weeks before son Prince turned one
Aaron Carter died on November 5, 2022, at the age of 34, a few weeks before the first birthday of his son. Aaron breathed his last in his Lancaster, California, home after a servant discovered him unconscious in his bathtub.
Later, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner declared the death to be accidental and determined that Aaron had drowned after ingesting generic Xanax and inhaling difluoroethane, a refrigerant found in compressed air canisters used for dusting.
Officials stated that Aaron, who was the younger brother of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter, was "incapacitated while in the bathtub due to the effects" of the narcotics.
Aaron further resorted to his addictions following the death of his sister Leslie in 2012 from an overdose of prescription drugs at the age of 25, as per the Daily Mail.
The 'Recovery' singer had a series of family traumas, including the death of his father Robert Carter in 2017 from what appeared to be a heart attack.
The medical professionals who treated Aaron during his stay in rehab following his father's death declared that he had schizophrenia and multiple personality disorders at the time.
