Alec Baldwin roasted for complaining his $16M NYC penthouse is 'too small' to raise his 7 children

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Alec Baldwin is lamenting that his 6,000-square foot-plus New York City penthouse is “too small” for his large family to reside, but online sympathy is hard to come by.
The 66-year-old father-of-eight, despite being an acclaimed actor and a ‘Saturday Night Live’ veteran, could not help but suffer from the classic problem faced by most of the New Yorkers - being cramped for space.

Dang, you gotta feel bad for the guy. Some people can just never catch a break.

Though Baldwin owns a $16 million penthouse in the city’s upscale Greenwich Village, he recently shared in his TLC series ‘The Baldwins’ that his home feels small for his large family.
Alec Baldwin says his NYC home feels small
In ‘The Baldwins’, which premiered on February 23, the ‘Beetlejuice’ actor shared that his house doesn’t seem to fit everyone.
During a recent episode, the actor, who owns a piece of property in the Devonshire House, shared with the crew members, "We know it’s too small,” as reported by Curbed.
Baldwin, and his wife, Hilaria, 41, live in a modified penthouse in the apartment block with their seven children, Carmen, 11, Rafael, nine, Leonardo, eight, Romeo, six, Eduardo and Marilu, four, and Ilaria, two.

The ‘30 Rock’ actor also shares his eldest daughter Ireland with his ex, Kim Basinger.
Apart from the actor and his yoga enthusiast wife’s seven children, the apartment also reportedly houses four pooches, four felines, and a presumed group of nannies.
‘The Boss Baby’ star scooped up his apartment in the building initially for $11.7 million in 2011. However, since then the actor has been expanding his abode.
Soon after tying the knot with Hilaria in 2012, he bought a neighboring apartment for $1.2 million and continued to add to his property portfolio by snapping another studio apartment in the building for $1.3 million.

After purchasing the third studio apartment in Devonshire in 2019 for $1.7 million, Baldwin filed for city permits to complete the renovation job. After shelling out $340,000, the family rounded off their apartments to make one penthouse with interconnected passages.
The family also owns a property in the Hamptons where parts of their show have been filmed.
Nevertheless, despite owning a 6,086 square-foot apartment complete with 760 square feet of terraces, per the New York Post, the actor struggled to fit his family.
As he shared his predicament online, the social media users - not happy with his “out of touch” comment - took to the internet to remind him that other people live in even smaller houses.
Social media users troll Alec Baldwin's complaint of feeling cramped up in his NYC apartment
Alec Baldwin's complaint about his NYC penthouse being "too small" to house his large family, did not sit well with the internet users who boldly declared him to be "out of touch" with reality. Some of the netizens even sarcastically noted that the fans should set up a GoFundMe page for the "poor" Baldwin.
One of the social media users compared their living situation with Baldwin's, and said, "And here I am, thinking life is grand because we can afford an 1,800 sq ft house with a family of 5. I guess I don't know the meaning of life after all."

Poor guy just needs more space 🙄
"Poor Alec... let's start a gofundme for these poor celebs..," trolled another social media user.
Someone else bluntly asked, "Why would ordinary people care?"
"Poor guy! Wish he could afford more 🙄," quipped another critic online.
Someone else pointed out, "An apartment... With stairs going to another level within it. Huh."
"Imagine stacking millions in real estate just to still feel cramped—must be exhausting being that out of touch," mused someone else.

"Poor baby. They just need their own GoFundMe," joked a netizen, before adding, "Let's all pitch in......anyone?"
