Hilaria Baldwin reveals undergoing postpartum ‘procedure’ but worries over impact on 11-yr-old daughter

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: In a recent episode of 'The Baldwins', Hilaria Baldwin opened up about a deeply personal experience — undergoing a “procedure” after years of pregnancy and breastfeeding.

She revealed her complex emotions surrounding the decision to go under the knife after noticing changes in her body over the years. She also expressed her concern over how it might affect her 11-year-old daughter, Carmen.

TLC reality series 'The Baldwins', which streams on Max after airing weekly, offers fans a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of Alec Baldwin, Hilaria, and their seven children.

The April 6, Sunday, episode continued to pull back the curtains, introducing viewers to Alec’s assistant and spotlighting a visit from Hilaria’s close friend, Danny.

What began as a casual haircut with her friend Danny quickly took a more vulnerable turn.

In the middle of trimming his hair, Hilaria casually dropped the line, “So you know I did a procedure?”

Danny, amused, replied, “I kept sneaking a peek," leading Hilaria to playfully respond, “You were like 'if the cameras are not here I will literally be like OK show me’.”

What followed was an emotional unpacking of a decade-long journey with motherhood, body image, and how Hilaria wants to protect her eldest daughter, Carmen, the Irish Star reported.

Hilaria Baldwin revealed what prompted her decision to undergo a breast lift.

She spilled, “Since I was breastfeeding for so long, it was one of these things I decided to do, like, a little up. I’ve been pregnant and or breastfeeding for over a decade. I think this is the first time I’ve not been pregnant or had to breastfeed since I started having kids.”

She continued, “I got used to my body more or less a certain way than as most women know who breastfeed and the milk goes out, it’s a different much lower reality. It almost felt like my body wasn’t my body anymore because I was so used to it being a certain way.”

She said the procedure was ultimately a personal choice, claiming, “My decision, my journey was I breastfed, I felt comfortable in the way I looked before. I didn’t look that way once the milk dried up and I made a choice.”

To Danny, she added, “So it’s just to make myself feel OK and that’s OK.”

Danny reassured her saying, “By the way almost all of my girl friends who have had kids, have had (it) done.”

According to E! News, although Hilaria Baldwin is proud of her cosmetic procedure, she hopes her children never feel pressured to get under the knife just to meet unrealistic beauty standards.

Despite finding some solace in her decision, Hilaria confesses she is still haunted by insecurities, and worries how her choices may influence Carmen, her oldest child.

“I worry about Carmen. She’s a tween. Every time I do something that is in the realm of vanity, I don’t want them to feel that they (the children) have to be a certain way and I want to protect Carmen," she said.

Her vulnerability was exposed as she said, “Because I’ve experienced a lot of self-doubt and listened to the criticism more than I should have from opinions.”

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have seven children together.
