Angelina Jolie admits she doesn’t know ‘how to relax’ amid Akala squashing romance rumors
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie admitted she gets “uncomfortable” when she is not working and explained why she “always wants to be challenged”.
Her statements came after her rumored British rapper boyfriend, Akala recently clarified that they were not romantically involved.
The 40-year-old rapper reportedly arrived with Chanelle Newman, a film producer, at the Rosewood London hotel’s Christmas party recently, where he publicly introduced the woman as his “girlfriend” to everyone.
Angelina Jolie says she wants ‘to be challenged’
Angelina Jolie said during an interview with Vogue Mexico, " I think a creative person always wants to be growing. I always want to be challenged, I want to feel that.”
She continued, “I think it’s also about the relationship I have with myself and feeling like I’m not growing. So if I'm working, I'm doing something that's not easy, something I don't understand.”
“I always put myself in situations where I'm not the smartest person in the room, or I don't understand everything that's going on, but I know that so much creativity and human growth comes from being completely uncomfortable, but working hard,” Jolie added.
"So I think that's where I'm happy,' she added.
Angelina Jolie claims she’s not 'different from Maria'
Angelina Jolie also went on to mention her similarities with opera singer Maria Callas, who she is playing in the Netflix biographical psychological drama ‘Maria’.
She said, “I can also blame myself for not knowing how to relax. I can't always take a vacation. I don't think I'm very different from Maria, although we are completely different people, we are not that different.”
“I remember that I worked from the age of 14 to help my mother pay the bills... I don't ever remember not working or doing something,” she stated.
'Maria' is scheduled to stream on Netflix on December 11.
Akala shuts down Angelina Jolie romance rumors
Rumors mills were abuzz that Angelina Jolie had been spending a fair amount of time recently with British rapper and activist Akala. Speculations were rife about the pair for months, but Akala put the rumours to rest with unexpected move at a Christmas party recently.
Akala arrived at the Rosewood London hotel’s Christmas party with Chanelle Newman, who he introduced to the other guests as his “girlfriend". Chanelle, who is a film producer, is reportedly friends with the 'Maleficent' actress herself.
“She and Akala are not dating. She is friends with him and his partner, Chanelle, who was also there,” an insider told People.
They added, "They did several collabs over the years that focus on global issues like human rights. Angie speaks very highly of him.”
"Angelina remains focused on her family and is not dating at this time," clarified another source.
Brad Pitt begs for Angelina Jolie’s ‘mercy’
Angelina Jolie has been embroiled in a legal fight with her ex-husband Brad Pitt over their multi-million French winery, Chateau Miraval.
Pitt has even accused her of keeping him away from his children. A mole said, as per RadarOnline.com, “Brad has not given up on his kids and it's been incredibly tough for him to be so alienated from them. The longer it goes, the more painful it gets.”
“With the holidays coming, he's feeling the heartbreak even more and he's now saying he's willing to do whatever it takes to get some time with them even if it means swallowing his pride and asking Angelina to show some mercy,” they added.
