Angelina Jolie wants 'to get under Brad Pitt's skin' by making red carpet appearance with son Knox
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie recently wowed at the Governors Awards red carpet as she walked with her 16-year-old son Knox Jolie-Pitt.
However, insiders are looking beyond the mother-and-son outing and claim the ‘Maria’ actress was using the red carpet appearance to “get under her ex-husband's skin.”
Jolie, 48, and her ex, Brad Pitt, 60, have been locked in a contentious divorce battle ever since the actress filed for divorce in 2016 following a fateful flight from France to the USA.
Although the ex-couple has been separated for some time, their divorce battle— including the dispute over their ownership of the French winery, Chateau Miraval— continues, with the case heading to court next year.
Brad Pitt ‘suspicious’ of timing of Angelina Jolie and Knox’s red-carpet appearance
On Sunday, Angelina Jolie was accompanied by son Knox, who was towering over his mother, as they appeared at the glitzy star-studded affair at Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles.
However, the timing of their outing was “suspicious,” claimed an insider while talking to Daily Mail.
“Brad only gets to see his children when they walk on the carpet with their mom and the timing of this could not be any more suspicious considering it was just decided that he and Angie are headed to trial,” shared the insider.
Last week, it was revealed that a judge dismissed the motion filed by the ‘Eternals’ actress to throw out her ex’s lawsuit over their French winery. Coming next year, the long feuding exes would battle each other at the trial over the French estate, Chateau Miraval estate.
Amid the recent development in their case, the insider said that the ‘Wanted’ actress has been trying to create a chasm between Pitt and their six children. Apart from Knox, the former couple share five other children - Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 17, and Knox's twin, Vivienne.
"She is trying to get under his skin after his recent win and using Knox to do so is odd,” claimed the insider, before adding, “Knox wants nothing to do with Hollywood and has no communication with Brad.”
They continued, “Of course, it bothers him that Angelina has turned them against him. She did this while they were all young and they didn’t even get a chance to make up their minds about him.”
Nevertheless, the insider concluded, saying, “He believes that, in time, his children will come back into his life.”
Meanwhile, another source close to Jolie clarified that Knox desired to support his mother on the red carpet.
The insider shared, “Knox chose to attend the awards with his mom, and they had a nice mother-son evening,” and added, “Their decision to attend together did not have anything to do with Brad."
Brad Pitt wishes to use girlfriend Ines de Ramon to mend broken fences
Angelina Jolie’s outing with Knox came just a month after the rumor floated in Tinsel Town that Brad Pitt had turned on to his girlfriend Ines de Ramon to mend his broken relationship with his children.
"He's tried everything to fix things, and nothing has worked. That's why he's turned to Ines," shared a source, before adding, "It's a long shot, but he seems to think she can work some magic," per Radar Online.
The source further revealed that the ‘Babylon’ star’s alleged desperation came after his relationship with his children had "gotten worse." "They've all shut him out,” revealed the source.
However, the source revealed that the ‘Troy’ actor remains "hopeful" for a resolution. "He isn't ready to give up, and that's where Ines comes in.”
They explained, “He feels like she's his ace in the hole because he has no doubt the kids, when they finally meet her, will see what a gem she is. She's a very warm and diplomatic person, and Brad is convinced she's got a real shot at convincing his kids – and even Angie – to show him some mercy."
