Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez spotted together after seven weeks amid split rumors but ‘they did not hug or kiss’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have been spotted together for the first time since their divorce rumors started doing the rounds.

The power couple, lovingly called ‘Bennifer’ by fans, reunited for the first time in seven weeks as they attended a school production by Affleck’s 15-year-old child Fin Affleck, who goes by the pronoun ‘they’.

Earlier, Lopez had left fans surprised by attending the Met Gala alone.

The 51-year-old actor and his 54-year-old actress-musician wife were seen together as they reunited to attend Fin’s school production, on Thursday, May 16, per TMZ. 

The outlet reported that while the couple arrived separately, they chatted it up till the play. Both of them also brought fresh flowers for Fin. 

However, the couple did not indulge in any PDA, and they were also not seen holding hands together. Lopez’s daughter Emme, who has grown a special bond with Fin, also attended the function.

On the other hand, an onlooker claimed the stars were not looking happy as they met each other, with the observer sharing with Daily Mail, “Ben did not look happy to see JLo as she arrived at a show for one of his kids.”

The eyewitness noted, “When he saw her get out of her car, they did not hug or kiss.”

TMZ further noted that after the conclusion of the function, the ‘Good Will Hunting’ actor did not return to the couple’s $60 million mansion. After dropping Lopez and Emme at the couple’s Beverly Hills family home, Affleck returned to his Brentwood rental property.

Though the stars are still maintaining separate residences after the divorce rumor, a source close to the couple recently shared with Perez Hilton that “nothing would have stopped them coming together for the kids".

The mole further revealed that “the marriage drama comes second” for the couple.

The insider dished, “They are putting on a united front. Jen showed up with Emme to support Fin,” before explaining, “Emme’s super attached to Fin, so it’s only natural that Jen, no matter what she’s going through with Ben, was there.”

Another source shared with People that despite the icy exterior, both Lopez and Affleck were wearing the wedding rings.

Recently, the rumor mills were abuzz with the news of the separation of Lopez and Affleck with an insider sharing with InTouch that the actor had allegedly “decided to call it quits” on his marriage. 

The insider added, "It's over; they're headed for a divorce and for once [Ben's] not to blame.”

"They'll never stop loving each other, but she can't control him, and he can't change her,” continued the source before adding, "There's no way it could have lasted.”

However, another source recently shared with The US Sun that though the couple is going a difficult patch in their relationship, they are not headed for a divorce. They, in fact, have some ground rules in their marriage.

The source shared the couple “give each other a lot of space,” and it is the “strongest thing” in the relationship.

"It's the strongest thing about their relationship [because] they're willing to give each other a lot of space when opportunity knocks,” continued the source before explaining, "They are independent people who don't need to be with one another 24/7 like some Hollywood couples do.”
