Ben Shapiro slams Kamala Harris for saying Trump's Iran attack wasn't 'the way to dismantle threat'

WASHINGTON, DC: Conservative commentator and the Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro launched a fiery attack on former Vice President Kamala Harris after she publicly opposed President Donald Trump’s decision to strike Iran.

The clash unfolded on Saturday, February 28, shortly after Trump confirmed that joint US-Israeli strikes had killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The president also announced that “heavy and pinpoint bombing” would continue for at least a week in pursuit of what he called peace in the Middle East.

Kamala Harris says Trump is dragging US into an unwanted war

In her post, Harris wrote, “Donald Trump is dragging the United States into a war the American people do not want.”

She continued, “Let me be clear: I am opposed to a regime-change war in Iran, and our troops are being put in harm’s way for the sake of Trump’s war of choice.”

Her statement framed the strikes as an unnecessary escalation and suggested that American service members were being exposed to risk for a conflict she believes lacks public support.

Ben Shapiro goes off on Kamala Harris and defends Trump’s approach

Shapiro did not hold back in his response.

Reacting to Harris’ remarks on 'The Ben Shapiro Show', he said, “She says… ‘I know the threat Iran poses… but this is not the way to dismantle that threat.’”

He then took aim at the previous administration’s diplomatic efforts under former President Joe Biden.

“Apparently the way to dismantle the Iranian nuclear threat was to kiss their a** under Joe Biden,” Shapiro added. He also dismissed Harris as an "idiot take" and "pathetic stuff."

For Shapiro and others who back the strikes, the operation represents a necessary show of strength after years of what they view as failed engagement.

Trump says Iran bombing will continue ‘as long as necessary’

Meanwhile, Trump doubled down on his decision.

In a Truth Social post, he wrote, “The heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue uninterrupted throughout the week or as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!”

The president described Khamenei as “one of the most evil people in History” and called his death a victory for justice.

“This is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many Countries throughout the World, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty THUGS,” Trump said.

He also claimed that Iranian forces were weakening, writing, “This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country. We are hearing that many of their IRGC, Military, and other Security and Police Forces, no longer want to fight, and are looking for Immunity from us.”

Trump urged Iran’s military and police to “peacefully merge with the Iranian Patriots” and reclaim their nation.
