Bernie Kosar slammed for sharing selfie with Taylor Swift after posing with RFK Jr: ‘Stand for something’

CLEVELAND, OHIO: Retired quarterback and Cleveland Browns star Bernie Kosar faced backlash online for celebrating Swift Day just a day after posting a picture with the controversial political figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.

As the 61-year-old retired NFL star shared an image with Taylor Swift, several social media users slammed him for not choosing a side. One of them even implored Koser to “stand for something.”

The NFL star, who previously met Swift, 35, in 2023, shared a selfie with her to celebrate ‘Swift Day’ on March 13, reported Parade.

Bernie Koser posted his selfie with Taylor Swift on X (formerly Twitter). The retired NFL star and Grammy winner were seen donning bright red shirts, with Swift wearing a shirt of her beau Travis Kelce’s team - the Kansas City Chiefs. The former athlete grinned from ear to ear as he posed with the ‘Lavender Haze’ singer. 

He captioned the post, “Happy #SwiftDay 😍 #UMatter #HealthyHabits http://Kosar19.Com ⁦@taylornation13.”

While his post was welcomed by a section of the Swifties, it also raised eyebrows as several users urged him to take a side, as the post came just a day after he was seen posing with RFK Jr. 

Posting the image, Koser wrote, on Wednesday, March 12, "Thank 🙌🏼 ⁦Food is Our Medicine without the Chemicals & Microplastics 🙏🏼🇺🇸🙏🏼 #UMatter ⁦@RobertKennedyJr⁦ @DrOz ⁩@DrMikeRoizen ⁦#Healthy #HealthyHabits Kosar19.Com."

RFK Jr and Swift are, meanwhile, positioned at the diverse opposite poles of the political spectrum. 

While the 71-year-old is serving as the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services under Republican President Donald Trump, the ‘So High School’ singer endorsed the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 election. 

In December 2023, Kosar gushed about meeting Swift during an appearance at the Cleveland radio show 'The Jen & Tim Show'. Saying that the Grammy winner at that time was at her boyfriend Kelce's house for a pregame meal ahead of his team's match, Kosar revealed then, "I can't believe even more awesome she was."

He continued, "To be nice to maybe me or the family, maybe that's one thing. But man, over a couple days, to see how genuine she was with everybody."

Social media users were left fuming over Bernie Koser's social media posts as they urged him to choose a side.

One of the social media users said, "You don’t get to post with RFK one day and Taylor Swift the next. Stand for something."

Someone else, however, joked, "Oh Bernie…. lol. Shake that s**t off! 😂."

One person noted, "RFK Jr one day, T Swift the next. Bernie is such a legend, guy knows exactly what he’s doing 🤣."

"@BernieKosarQB why just why!?!?! Lol," asked someone else. 

One individual remarked, "Upgrade from yesterday. Like to see it."

Another declared, "I just lost a little respect for you, Mr.Kosar. @BernieKosarQB."

One individual asked, "Did you tell her your punk a** is a MAGA supporter? Yeah I didn’t think so. Get off my timeline b****."

"I still can't believe you posted a pic with that cr***head RFK Jr. Taylor Swift would have told you to f**k off if she knew about that," someone else added.
