PHILADEPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: President Joe Biden retorted at a reporter who questioned whether he would hand over power to Vice President Kamala Harris before completing his second term in January 2029 in the event of the duo winning the November election, reported the New York Post.

The questioning came on Wednesday, May 29, while the president was posing for photographs with his entourage, including Sen Bob Casey, before he headed to a rally at a half-filled gym at Girard College in Philadelphia.

Biden, 81, the oldest to hold the presidential office, would be 86 if he manages to complete a second term in the White House. Meanwhile, his VP Harris is only 59 years old at present.

Joe Biden snaps at reporter's question

The reporter asked, "President Biden, will you be serving your full four-year term or handing over power to Vice President Harris?"

Standing across the tarmac at Philadelphia International Airport with his allies, Biden pointed his finger at his head and shouted in response, "Are you OK?"

"Are you all right? You're not hurt, are you?" Biden repeated.

The reporter asked whether the president could approach since he couldn't hear him.

"I said, are you OK? Did you fall on your head or something?" the Democrat, seeking a second term in the Oval Office, shouted at the pool reporter. The octogenarian's response drew laughter from those who accompanied him.

Republicans had often claimed Harris would take over the Oval Office, citing Biden's age if he wins a second term. In addition, early March polls by the New York Times/Siena College said that around 61% of voters agreed that the 81-year-old was "just too old" to carry out his presidential duties effectively.

The incumbent's age and cognitive ability caused serious concerns after a special counsel report by Robert Hur, released in February, described Biden as an "elderly man with poor memory."

However, the president dismissed the worry in March during his final State of the Union address of this term.

Referring to his age, he said to the Congress, "I know I may not look like it, but I've been around a while. And when you get to my age, certain things become clearer than ever before."

With only about five months left for a crucial rematch with his predecessor, Donald Trump, Biden continued to actively campaign while his opponent was stuck inside the Manhattan courtroom to attend his hush money criminal trial.

Addressing a half-full venue at the Gerrad College on May 29 with Harris by his side, the president attempted to woo the Black voters.

Following the vice president's reminder, "Who sits in the White House matters," the commander-in-chief lashed out at the GOP contender as "clearly unhinged"  and told the supporters that Trump "wanted to tear gas you" during the Black Lives Matter protests.

Internet ridicules Joe Biden for snapping at reporter

Biden faces intense mockery from netizens for retorting at the reporter who questioned the possibility of him not completing the second term by handing over the office to Harris.

One user joked, "He was Triggered." Meanwhile, another regarded the response as "Showing off for his friends."

"Yeah that’s totally normal behavior for the Commander-in-Chief," added a user, and one response read, "No answer? great strategy."

Another person wrote, "Pathetic!! How about he just answer a question for a change? His antics are getting old."

Someone else said, "President fell on his head a long time ago…" An individual said, "A mean spirited perverted old man who doesn’t like being asked difficult questions but then tells others to be polite to each other. Guy is a complete clown."

"The irony of Biden asking someone if they fell," another user added along with a GIF of Biden falling on the stairs of Air Force One.
