ANCHORAGE, ALASKA: On August 15, President Donald Trump descended the stairs from Air Force One and walked down a red carpet looking serious in his trademark dark suit, white shirt, and red tie,

Moments later, Russian President Vladimir Putin approached. Trump clapped for him, shook his hand warmly, and gave him a friendly tap on the arm before the two smiled over what appeared to be a joke.

The leaders made their way toward a platform marked “Alaska 2025,” where reporters shouted questions at Putin, asking, “Will you agree to a ceasefire?” and “Will you stop killing civilians?” Putin appeared to shrug in response.

As they stood on the tarmac, American military aircraft flew overhead, including fighter jets and what appeared to be a B-2 stealth bomber.

The sight came as the two met during the highly anticipated Alaska summit.

Vladimir Putin rides in ‘The Beast’ with Donald Trump

Following the flyover, Putin joined Trump in the US president’s official car, nicknamed “The Beast,” a rare move extended to both allies and adversaries.

Reports said Trump personally invited Putin to ride with him, and the Russian leader could be seen laughing as the two drove away.

A planned one-on-one meeting was adjusted to include Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Behind the meeting table was a blue backdrop with the words “Pursuing Peace” printed on it. By 11.26 am local time, Trump and Putin were seated.

As reporters repeated the same questions, Putin appeared to mouth something towards the press, but it was unclear what he said. The press was ushered out a minute later.

One user added, “Beast mode. The only thing powerful people respect… Power.”

Another person joked, “Trump to Putin: ‘don’t be scared little boy. Come on let’s go.’” One user believed, “I think this was meant as a sign of respect and that the location is being guarded.”
