The U2's lead vocalist and his bandmates met the disgraced music mogul onstage to collect the award for their song 'Ordinary Love' featured in the 2013 movie 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.'
Diddy embraced the rock band's guitarist, The Edge, before leaning in to kiss Bono's cheeks. However, the singer appeared to dodge the kiss and went near the mic for the acceptance speech.
According to insider sources, the U2 frontman still has chills about the decade-old moment with Diddy, reported RadarOnline.
"Loads of fans are saying the obvious discomfort with Bono's body language all those years ago is a sign he knew there was something not right with Diddy — to say the least," the outlet quoted one source.
The insider confirmed Bono was unaware of any allegations against the rap mogul at the time.
"There's no way he knew about the depths of his depravity or he would have spoken up, but there was no way Bono was letting him anywhere near him, even 10 years ago," the source added. "He still shudders at the thought of it."
Diddy's awkward Golden Globes encounter with Bono resurfaces amidst mounting legal woes
Diddy was arrested on September 16 at Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan over severe federal charges. He is currently jailed at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting trial amidst the mounting accusations of sexual abuse against him.
Judge Andrew Carter denied his bail plea twice despite submitting a $50 million collateral using his and his mother's Miami homes. The federal criminal sex trafficking case against him was recently reassigned to Judge Arun Subramanian, according to CNN.
The 54-year-old pleaded not guilty to the accusations that stemmed after an FBI raid at his Miami residence. In March, the federal agents confiscated 1,000 bottles of baby oil, lubricants, unmarked AR-15s, and ammunition from his home. In addition, evidence about his infamous freak-offs was also found at his Los Angeles and Miami homes.
Since his arrest, more than 120 lawsuits have been filed alleging Diddy of sexual abuse.
In addition, celebrities, including Kevin Hart, Ashton Kutcher, and many more, came under scrutiny for their past connections with the now-jailed rapper.
