Brad Pitt pushes for prenup with Ines de Ramon while their 'wedding is on hold', claims source
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: After an agonizing eight-year legal battle, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt officially finalized their divorce settlement on December 30; but for Pitt it brings more complications in his relationship with longtime girlfriend, jewelry designer Ines de Ramon.
Since 2022, the 'Bullet Train' actor has been in a serious relationship with Ramon, 32, and there was speculation that the couple was waiting for the dust to settle on his tumultuous divorce before announcing an engagement. However, their plans have reportedly hit a roadblock.
For Jolie, the divorce settlement marks the end of an exhausting chapter as her lawyer revealed, “Frankly, Angelina is exhausted. But she is relieved this one part is over.”
Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon reportedly clash over prenup talks
“The wedding is on hold,” an insider exclusively revealed to In Touch.
“The main reason is that she’s refusing to sign a prenup. Ines doesn’t want to totally sign away her rights. It’s become a touchy subject for both of them,” they added.
While a representative for Pitt denied that the couple has been discussing marriage, insiders suggest that the actor’s $400 million fortune is a significant factor in the decision.
Pitt, having learned from his marriage to Jolie, knows the importance of a prenup.
Despite the agreement they had in 2014, their split was marked by bitter disputes over assets, including the French vineyard Chateau Miraval, and custody of their six children.
Jolie reportedly walked away from the divorce with $84 million, a sum that included auctioning off a Winston Churchill painting Pitt had gifted her for $11.5 million.
For Pitt, the prospect of entering another marriage without a prenup feels untenable.
“Brad knows a prenup is necessary to move forward with Ines, but he isn’t in a place where he wants to deal with any more legal back-and-forth,” claimed the insider.
“At this point, it’s easier to sidestep it altogether and push the marriage dialogue off.”
Ines de Ramon faces disappointment amid prenup talks
For Ramon, the delay is disappointing. “Ines wants to marry Brad and start a family with him. Taking that next step without ensuring she will be protected isn’t all that appealing to her, though,” said the insider.
Over the years, Ramon has been a stabilizing force for Pitt, even helping him rebuild his fractured relationships with his children - Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, many of whom sided with Jolie during their parents’ contentious breakup.
“While she understands Brad has been through the ringer with Angelina, it seems unfair she has to pay the price for how jaded he’s become,” the insider added.
Though marriage may be on pause, Pitt has shown his commitment to Ramon in other ways.
“Brad has every intention of being with Ramon long-term. His stance is that a marriage certificate isn’t what proves loyalty or devotion, it’s actions,” said the insider.
Prenup talks cast a shadow over future family dreams
Ines de Ramon has moved into Brad Pitt properties and even been given the green light to redecorate - a significant step for Pitt, who is famously particular about design.
The couple has also had open conversations about starting a family.
But will these gestures be enough for Ramon? The insider believes the prenup debate remains a hurdle.
“If Brad were more naive, he’d be fine marrying Ines without a prenup, but he knows the odds are not in his favor,” said the source.
Reportedly, even as Pitt closes the door on his tumultuous marriage to Jolie, its effects still linger.
“Even though his divorce with Angelina is now finally settled, it continues to hang over Brad’s new relationship,” the insider revealed.
