TAMPA: FLORIDA: 'Backstreet Boys' member Nick Carter's late sister Bobbie Jean Carter was reportedly laid to rest on Saturday, January 6, 2024, in Florida.

The pop star's younger sibling, who died at the age of 41 in December 2023, was buried in a community outside of Tampa in a 'small, private ceremony' that was attended by family and friends, according to TMZ.

Grieving the loss of his sister Bobbie Jean after the death of his younger brother Aaron Carter a year ago, Nick recently shared an emotional tribute to his Instagram.

Bobbie Jean's mother Jane Schneck gave the eulogy

The outlet's sources stated that Jane Schneck, the matriarch of the family, delivered the eulogy, however, it was unclear if Nick attended the burial.

TMZ reported that Bobbie's cemetery was selected so that it would be nearer to Schneck, 64, allowing her to frequently visit her daughter.

Additionally, Bobbie Jean's obituary includes mention of her late younger sister Leslie, who also sadly died suddenly in 2012, as well as her popular brothers.

The distraught mother spoke about her heartbreaking loss in a message to TMZ.

Schneck began, "I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time."

"When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private," the grieving mother said.

"However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater," she added, as per Daily Mail.

Schneck concluded her message by saying, "So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother."

The 41-year-old sister of Nick and Aaron Carter has a history of drug misuse, but no drugs were found at the scene of her death.

Her death is eerily similar to that of her younger brother Aaron, who died in November 2022 in his bathtub after taking an apparent overdose.

Although Nick, 43, has not publicly discussed this most recent family tragedy, his sister Angel, 35, posted a lengthy statement on Instagram, pledging to prevent the anguish that her siblings experience from hurting future generations.

"This starts with our children, and creating healthy conversation within the home. The generational dysfunction stops now," Angel wrote.

"I love you BJ, you’re free now," she wrote.
