Britney Spears declares she's 'married', calls it 'most brilliant thing' she has ever done

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears has left fans stunned with a surprising post about her self-marriage, something she claims she has never done before. The post features a video of her marrying herself, rather than a traditional ceremony with a groom, which has baffled her followers. 

This comes just days after she shared her experiences with quirky "girl crushes" and her feelings of being a little silly in the world.

In the video, Britney Spears is seen in a satin cream dress and a long veil. She paired her dress with pointed-toe black heels and let her blonde tresses cascade down in waves.

Spears accessorized with a delicate gold necklace and applied black eyeliner for this special occasion she dedicated to herself.

She captioned the post, "The day I married myself … Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever done !!!" 

The video was set to the song 'Fields of Gold' by English musician Sting. Afterward, Spears shared a playful clip of her enjoying a sunny day by the pool. 

In her latest post, the singer is seen dancing at the entrance of a jet, possibly flying off to a solo honeymoon. The caption said, "!!! Turks and Caicos here I come." 

Spears' self-marriage post comes a year after her divorce from Sam Asghari. In August 2023, several reports confirmed that the couple separated after 14 months of marriage. 

Spears and Asghari sparked dating rumors in late 2016 and went Instagram official in January 2017. In September 2021, Asghari proposed to Spears, and the couple shared the happy news on Instagram. 

They tied the knot in an intimate wedding in Los Angeles in June 2022. While they do not have children together, Spears has two sons from her previous marriage to Kevin Federline.

After Britney Spears disabled the comments section on Instagram, her fans and other internet users quickly began sharing her videos across social media platforms, where they started commenting on her self-marriage.

One mocked, "She's right too," and another wrote, "Just in time for halloween."

A person joked, "Lemme guess, she married...her own shadow!" Someone else declared, "She needs help immediately." 

"She is so strange…," remarked one more, while another person said, "She looks haunted."

"I thought she was getting a Halloween costume together," expressed an individual. Another quipped, "That's probably the best choice she's made."

"I've always had a soft spot for Britney. but with this wacky behaviour it's getting harder and harder to be supportive. God, they rear 'em crazy out there, eh?" expressed a concerned fan.
