Britney Spears is ‘very happy’ to spend time with sons amid DUI arrest and rehab stay, says source
VENTURA, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears, 44, is reportedly “very happy” to be spending time with her sons again, even as she faces the fallout from her alleged DUI arrest and time in rehab.
After the March 2026 incident, Spears’ representative said it was “completely inexcusable” and that she will take responsibility. “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law,” the rep mentioned, adding it could be “the first step in a long-overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.”
The pop icon stood by her words as she voluntarily checked into rehab earlier this week. Inside sources later revealed that her sons, Preston Preston and Jayden James, played “a big part” in her decision and shared that Spears is feeling positive about connecting with her children amid challenging times.
Britney Spears is happier as she reconnects with her sons during recovery
Spears is reportedly finding comfort in spending time with her sons again amid her alleged DUI incident and rehab program. A source said the singer feels happy and positive about being back in their life, as per PEOPLE.
“When she's not in a good place, it's almost impossible for her to maintain any kind of steady connections,” the source explained, highlighting how much her emotional state affects her relationships.
Even so, her desire to be present as a mother remains strong. The source said she “wants to be a good mom,” quoting, “She really loves Preston and Jayden and listens to them.”
They also said that being able to spend time with her sons again has made a noticeable difference in Spears' mood. “For Britney, it's amazing that she gets to spend time with them again. It makes her very happy.”
As per the source, her sons, Preston Preston and Jayden James, are expected to spend time with her. “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”
Following her arrest on March 4, the source said Spears was “very upset and shaken,” which ultimately led her to seek professional help with encouragement from her close circles.
Support from those around her continues, although it hasn’t always been simple. “People around her do care a lot and are constantly trying to support her, but it can be difficult,” the source noted, adding, “There have been a lot of concerns since the arrest.”
Spears' sons, Preston and Jayden, have also played an important role in her decision to enter rehab. According to the source, they “were a big part of getting her to rehab.” “They've been clear with her,” the source said of the boys. “They just want her to be healthy.”

The representative also shared that Preston and Jayden were “going to be spending time with her,” and emphasized the role of her inner circle moving forward. “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”
